Weekend Cooking Bonfires and Lily’s Favourite Spaghetti Bolognaise

Thought we’d show a bit more of the cooking that goes on at the farm for the doggies this weekend. Additionally as a Sunday treat, Luke cooked Lily the German Shepherd’s favourite dish in our household and also Luke’s Nonno’s recipe (tailored for the dogs) of spaghetti bolognaise.
This is not their regular diet, our dogs usually eat fresh meat and vegetables only, this is a special treat. Our dogs burn a lot of energy and it can be hard to keep weight on them. So occasionally we have to bulk up their diet with 3 meals in their day and a meal like spag bowl.
The dogs help Luke check that the drains are clear around the property after another heavy rainfall. They also help Luke check in on burn piles throughout the weekend, even into the night. The dogs love these adventures.
I’m a little late posting Friday’s video where we opened some parcels and thanked everyone, there’s a couple of the gifts shown in this video being used, for example a carrier for Kitty Rose. I just wanted to say thank you. There will be a video too.

i'm trying so hard to not look for faith in background. 💔 hope is doing so good with the gentle approach, it really shows they were both abused terrible! since faith passing i've cried at every video, especially the vet check. when sam cried regarding hope, i was already crying. dumping a dog like trash because they don't physically meet your wallet is disgusting. i'm happy hope is learning trust from humans. i'm totally interested in what the vet said about hope. just loving hope and missing faith like crazy. ❤️ 💔 thanks sam and luke

I think the only thing Luke and Sam can do is contact YT and warn their subscribers and members not to replied or answer them, because it’s not them. It looks like Hope is really getting into the pack runs. She was keeping pace with Maggie. Meanwhile, back at the house, Kitty Rose is happily sprawled on her warm, dry bed. When Roscoe doesn't go on runs, he says "I'm guarding the place. I can't go running and leave the children unguarded." 😀 I have fed all my dogs and cats a small amount of pasta for years. They get leftover chicken noodle soup, spaghetti, and any other pasta dish we have. It's a small part of their diet, but I think variety is a good idea.

Except when it comes to the pool and he says I’m off duty, Freddo’s turn but Freddo’s already in the pool. He does seem to love to hang back around the garage in view of the front of the house, he has his eyes on it. (Plus get some extra one eye open sleep while the others run) I agree he has found his home, his place to shine. He really loves his family. Hope is finding some extra comfort with Sam, all those loving chin scratches and being called “Beautiful and Darling” has gone to her heart. She is getting comfortable with the pack and eventually it’s humans. I love every minute Sam gives those words of encouragement, I see Hope’s tail wag more and more around Sam. The nights playtime made my heart jump for joy, boxer love and some bully love sprinkled in. In time, I believe she will come around and forget most of her past. The healing force in their pack is extremely strong. I love the spaghetti dinner, Sunday dinner at Mom’s type meal. They sure loved it too and I laughed so hard at the number of dogs crowding into the feeding pens to get extras and Barney’s puddles and Freddo’s bubbles. Such a funny feeding time and I laughed and laughed. Great video, I enjoyed it so much. Thank you for lifting my spirits with the love you have for each other and the pack. It renews my soul to deal with life. ♥️♥️

I’m in awe over the amount of food it takes to feed all the dogs, not to mention the time spent in preparing it. Hugo really really liked the spaghetti bolognese! Hilarious watching all the big dogs trying to cut in line. I still marvel at Luke’s ability to film while doing so many other things simultaneously, the ultimate in multi tasking! There were so many wonderful moments with hope; keeping pace with Luke on the run, playing with Miss Violet, Barney and Shadow, coming up happily to Sam for a pat and not flinching when touched, sleeping soundly beside Freddo, and best of all, looking happy again. It was a relief to see it all.

Seeing Kitty Rose sitting on Luke’s shoulder reminds me of my parent’s cat. After my father had had his breakfast he would sit at the table and do the crossword. Smudge would climb up the back of Dad’s chair on to his shoulder and to watch while he did it. Every now and then he would ask her if she knew the answer to the clue and she would give a long meow and purr. As if replying. When she had enough she would try and swipe his pen off him. Or hop down and sit on the paper as if to say it is play time now. 😊😊😊😊

Such a busy day for a day off! I feel like I’m walking around or quad biking, playing fetch in the pool, watching the birds, helping prepare the food and feeding the herd. Luke, you must be the most hard working and devoted guy I have ever seen, truly inspiring. That Spaghetti Bolognese looked devine, I felt I could smell it from here!!! The dogs queuing for seconds was hilarious, they so loved it. Seeing Hope interacting with Barney and Shadow was wonderful and Luke, Wolfie and Kitty Rose taking a stroll truly made a super video. Love your compassion with Hope, Luke you understand trauma and the importance of having to go slow with training, while empathizing with her situation. It was fantastic to see Freddo come running down ready to do his duty and Roscoe guarding the door at the gate. Everyone else kept a close eye on the driver. 👍 Good job! Enjoy your special treat Lilly, you all deserve it. It certainly looks delicious. The Pakistani Bully, is a Mastiff. Like most breeds that are taught their survival with a human is based on having to fight, this breed like the Pit Bull has a reputation of being aggressive and dangerous.

And as always, they want to please their owners so they do as they have been instructed - as Luke shows, they can be protective without being destructive either to other dogs or humans. Now we just need to make sure 'stupid' humans get the message to stop training these 'bully' dogs to kill so that the dogs' reputations change and it's the humans that always get penalised instead. Sorry, but I hate it when I hear another dog has been euthanised purely due to the fault of its human owner and the owner gets away with just a tap on the back of his hand, so to speak.
