I totally understand why you stay with Mary, Peter. When my husband was very ill and had a kidney transplant and later a pancreas transplant I ALWAYS slept at the hospital with him. The nurses were great, but they can't be there all the time to help your loved one. There were times that we were both very happy I was there to help him. When we get married we take our vows for a reason. You are ONE what effects one , effects the other. God bless you both. ♥

I'm a virologist (currently off long term ill - but that doesn't change the fact) and I can tell you it's frustrating for the scientists in ID as well. Waiting for cultures to grow for patients is so difficult. I've often wished I could speed things up. Fungal cultures are the longest microbes to culture - but once it's done they can match fungus to exact anti fungal. It's worth the wait. ♡

Ah I can't believe how big the Frey life family has become!!!!! I started watching back when there was about 11,000 of us. Now we're so close to 100,000 I can't believe it. My dad preached on John 1 this morning, too! "God in the Manger" was the title, talking about how people don't always equate Jesus in the Manger as God who came to save us. When Peter talks about how tired he is after preaching, I always think of my dad, because he preaches three times on a typical Sunday, so imagine how tired he must be on Sunday nights!

Super sweet when Peter said he and Ollie stay at the hospital because you are a team. I have RA and Lupus, my husband goes to every doctor appointment, infusion, test and has sat with me every injection I give myself. His reply is much like Peter's he says to me "The disease may be in your body but we have RA and Lupus." Amazing husbands we both have. And by the way, hairy cows need spa day too!

I really can appreciate your team comment as I feel it is so important to have an advocate with you in the hospital. My daughter was recently in the hospital for a kidney infection that went septic. It was a scary time for her even though she is an adult. Feeling very blessed to be there for her and I enjoy seeing you two so committed to each other.

Mary, hill-rom makes this cool little foam thingy that you can cut a hole in to keep your port site comfortable. My kiddo uses it for her gtube and it does make a difference. It's a cool memory foam kind of material!
