0:05 "I'VE GOT A SCREW LOOSE ! I know that's not a surprise to *some* of you". One of KipKay's best lines ever.

Seriously guys. It's not about the practicality of the project. It's about having fun doing it. Yeah there are countless other ways of doing this but come on. It's about having FUN with your projects.

As others have said: Sock or nylon partly in tube, secured to the outside with a rubber band. Used this idea for 30+ years now. ZERO expense.

Its a nice thing build, however, for screws I have a collapsible magnet pen that I purchased for about $3 at an auto parts store. I also was given another one from my father that is a fixed springy 2 foot long one that fits around corners really well. This thing you built I suppose is a good idea in the event you lose a crew around other metal objects that the magnet would rather stick to. I might consider building this. Cheers!

I did it, and i grabbed a bunch of rouches. Thanks Kip, gonna roll one now.

I built this a while back but I never ended up using screen, I just keep it with clear part down and many items you would wish to recover are too heavy and not enough wind drag to go all the way through. They end up in lid using just the decreased airspeed to drop them.

I defiantly think this should be named something else. I saw it in my sub notifications, first thing I thought was it was an over glorified magnetic on a stick (which is kind of what is promoted towards then end, but for retrieving plastic things this would be very handy!
@MegaPashag10 жыл бұрын
You can use magnet in this cd box, it means that it isn't needed to use grid on pipe and all litter will go inside the litter bag but screws will stick on the magnet
@steadfast198415 жыл бұрын
@DiarmuidC15 sometimes your taking stuff apart and you cant get replacement screws. if you loose one its more work to drive to a hardware store and hunt for one with the same thread pattern, and even worse waitting for one to be sent in the mail from the company who originally made what your working on.
@Sniperification10014 жыл бұрын
guys, don't think limited. this can be used to find a lost screw everytime you lose one under the cabinet while you don't want to run to the store to get a new screw every time you lose a one do you?

It's Kipkay bro, he'll build a three trillion dollar machine with 80 billion computer processors and a fusion reactor core that wipes his ass for him.
@crankit94414 жыл бұрын
@bloodhound389 because a dremel can't cut round edges, and you need a rough circle, so what you would have to do is cut out the circle, and then use a file to get the circle shape a little bit better. But this would take a LONG time, and would be faster just to use an Exato knife.
@Chirimorin12 жыл бұрын
@101klows sure, but this thing isn't a 1 time use only so next time you won't have to go to the shop. Also, I sometimes have screws from appliances that aren't really standard so I'd have a hard time finding those in the store
@ObliteAbyss12 жыл бұрын
@hiddenshadow1221 Looks like this fitting catches larger things (e.g. screws) instead of letting them through to the vacuum bag. Basically removes the hassle of sifting through all the dust you hoovered up, since the filter lets through most of the dust.
@superchunky315 жыл бұрын
Thats a great idea. a vacuum plus you dont have to go through the dust and garbage to find the screws
@MikeMattera15 жыл бұрын
@daeheadshot Yeah... Magnets only work on Ferris metals. Basically, it needs to have Iron in it. Brass is an alloy from Copper and Zinc.
@MrXstacey15 жыл бұрын
An easier method would be to zap strap a nylon or sock over the top of the vacuum hose it will all stick in the sock until you turn it off. A great tip for when you lose something down the sink like your wedding ring.

He said that his screw was made from non ferromagnetic material so it would have been impossible to catch the screw with that method. But of course its much easier that way if you are looking for an object that sticks to a magnet.

With a space like you have under there, why would you not use a broom or coat hanger? Seems like allot of work to make that little thing. And for the time and money? I would have just bought some extra screws if it was that important to have at that moment? The I have extra screws laying around to use later and not a piece of plastic pvc thingy? lol! I live in a place where space means everything! But maybe you can convert it to a bong?

People are over thinking this way too much. Stretch a bit of pantyhose over the wand vacuum attachment and rubber band it on. Turn on the vacuum, voila. It'll catch a screw no problem. And it only cost 25 cents.
