There's a short story collection coming out in July called Cursed Bunny, translated from Korean. It has a VERY epic bunny on the cover and I feel like it'd be a good book to test the 5 stars for every book with bunnies on the cover theory... I mean, also just this vibe: "Cursed Bunny is a genre-defying collection of short stories by Korean author Bora Chung. Blurring the lines between magical realism, horror, and science-fiction, Chung uses elements of the fantastic and surreal to address the very real horrors and cruelties of patriarchy and capitalism in modern society."

I absolutely feel like short story collection ratings ought to be more than an average of the whole, it's a measure of the overarching tone, writing and feeling. Or, if it's an anthology, it's a measure of the editing skills.

Gosh I hate doing errands. Renewed my health card and thought I needed proof of citizenship so I brought my citizenship card which features a photo of me as a baby. So I bought How to Pronounce Knife after this video and I JUST finally read it and I just came here to say, thank you for your reviews! I know you don't always think they're the most helpful, but I really appreciate how many diverse titles you pick up, in genre and in the experiences of the authors and characters. You bring so many titles to my attention that I would NEVER think to pick up, but when I finally do, I always get so much out of them!

For Project Hail Mary, I would recommend using audiobook as a supplement to the physical read (and not the primary format) because it has so much dense science that you would constantly need to go back a passage or two to understand what is being talked about.

Kayla's complex relationship with errands is the most relatable things to me 😳 It took me 6 months to get my health insurance card renewed because I had to go take pictures and it also took me like 2 years to get a passport because I couldn't find my birth certificate (and it felt to complicated to order a new one). I still don't have my driving license at 26yo even tho I'm almost done with classes. Too many steps, too much time, brain can't compute.

The themes you mentioned when talking about Mrs Death Misses Death reminded me of José Saramago´s "Death with Interruptions" which I read last year. If you don´t mind a more experimental writing style (e.g. no speech marks), then I recommend it, because it´s a wonderful read which makes you think.
