Ann was on a business trip in Guangzhou, that’s why we used the opportunity to spend a weekend in the capital of Cantonese food and culture. Guangzhou surprised us with its pleasant flair and the cordial and open-minded spirit of the citizens.
Highly recommended places to visit:
- Driving through Zhujiang New Town to Ersha Island
- Enjoying the Guangzhou skyline at the 99th floor in the Tian Bar of the Four Seasons Hotel
- Spending a night at Zhujiang Party Pier
- Eating Yum Cha at Diandoude
- Strolling through Shamian Island
- Discovering Qingping Traditional Chinese Medicine Market
- Dining at Xihua Street (Street food)
- Decoupling in Shawan Ancient Old Town
- Connecting with locals in the People’s Park (either in the morning or late afternoon)

The breakfast food call dim sum (touch the heart), yam cha meaning drinking tea
@lucasann
@lucasann Жыл бұрын
Your are right, literally in Cantonse, yum cha means ‘drink tea’ while dim sum means ‘touch the heart’. However, we were explained that Yum Cha refers to the ritual and the social institution as a whole :)

Schönes Video! I have never been to Guangzhou but have seen a few videos about the city. Interestingly, each one is different. You may have seen Blondie in China on KZbin. She (Amy) has done a lot of food videos. Mehr Videos!

I can't believe the locals didn't warn you about the durian bao. it's an acquired taste, much like stinky tofu.
