This is the most interesting piece Chloe Fineman has had on Update. Glad to see her not doing impressions or wacky characters. Funny that the episode which mentions Chris Kattan has this as Kattan used to do these physical pieces on Update all the time. Julia Stiles actually hosted SNL and was a very underrated host. She said in an interview that she wished she could have hosted again, so I'm glad she at least got to come back.

But the craziest coincidence is that the host, Adam Driver, actually applied to Julliard & was initially rejected, but accepted years later after his 2nd audition, where he performed the opening speech from Richard III and sang Happy Birthday (he was applying for drama so no weird dancing required). B/t the 2 attempts he joined the Marines (post 9/11) & after being medically discharged (due to an injury to his sternum), he used the GI Bill to attend University of Indiana to resume his path to acting. Man, what a huge pop for Julia's cameo!!!! Save the Last Dance was obviously a big deal but my favorite 2000's romcom of hers was Down to You with Freddie Prinze, Jr. I found it a few years after it came out and I was at that college age and in a very similar relationship and it just hit me in the right time in life. The theatre has really lost its magic for me in the last several years (even pre-covid) but my nostalgia wallet would fly out of my pocket for a reunion of them in a modern middle age romcom reunion.

I was 10 when that awesome movie came out, and my dad would tell me every time it came on TV and then watch it with me as I came running to watch it for the thousandth time! Such good memories!
