You have likely never met the dude and have no idea what his personal life is like. Also, from what it sounds like, working at SNL is a pretty stressful job, even if it pays well. Literally anyone can have a good or bad day, regardless of their wealth, job, social status, etc.

I honestly never expected Pete to become as genuinely talented as he has when I saw his first sketch. Even the first couple seasons he was there it seemed like, while is update pieces were fucking gold, his role there was destined to be more one-note without any real character work but over the last two season in particular he’s become so versatile and it’s crazy but he’s also become a real pinch hitter, like you know most of the time if he’s in a sketch it’s going to be good. I’m honestly really proud. He’s had to deal with so much not just in his life but over the course of his SNL career and I can’t think of someone who deserves success more.

I was just watching or listening to something recently and PD was saying that when he first auditioned for the show, and then got the gig Lorne said to him that he was quite sure what to do with him but he wanted Pete to work on the show. Pete looks so good. He looks so healthy to me in this; he's got more color, he doesn't look so gaunt and he seems almost serene. Anyone else see it?
