A lovely way to say a final goodbye to your Dad. Quite a coincidence we did the same yesterday, however we said a final farewell to both our Mam and Dad. Dad passed on 23rd September and Mam on October 19th, whilst it’s been a difficult couple of months it really is a love story, I hope you don’t mind I thought I would share it with you. They met and fell in love 73 years ago, their 67th wedding anniversary was on 24th October. Having been together in life for so long, they chose not to be apart for too long. They are now together again for eternity ❤, a true love story. My sister and I were incredibly lucky to have them together for so long, Dad was 90 and Mam was 89, a remarkable long happy life together xx ❤️ Thank you for sharing your lovely family on a special occasion ❤

Beautiful, thank you for sharing Caroline. I found it very moving when you all spread your dad's ashes, it brought a tear (or 10) to my eyes. I've still not spread my dad's ashes, he passed away almost 22 years ago. I'm so pleased for you that you have such loving supportive family around you, Caroline. They all seem so warm and lovely. xo

Ooh, that made me shed a tear. A tight knit family honouring a husband, father and grandfather. RIP. My parents are still in their boxes, here in Australia, except half of my dads ashes were returned many years ago to his childhood church that he attended in Bury, Lancashire when he was a small boy, he is sharing space under a rose tree with my uncle.

Loved the video. I scattered my lovely Mums ashes recently, on the 1st November, on what would have been her 97th birthday so I fully know what you mean when you say that you had a lovely time, so did we. Thanks for the tip re getting a plaque from Etsy, I never thought of that.

Fresh tissue needed here Caroline. It was very brave and kind of you and your mum and family to share such a personal time with us. The music was lovely too. I always enjoy a peep at what you are wearing. Very nice may I add. How interesting to see your house from a new angle. It looks very impressive. The bottle is lovely. I may well be visiting Aldi soon. By the way, the plaque for your dad sounds like a very good plan. Just something for the family to visit. As always, take care. x

Dear Caroline thank you for sharing such an intimate weekend. We have talked of doing a similar thing with our dad's ashes, bit we are in multiple continents-so slightly trickier! ❤❤❤❤

Yes, that could definitely cause some logistical issues, luckily we all live within a couple of hundred miles of each other, which makes it easier!
