Caroline I was so sorry to hear that Ron had passed away. He had a wonderful long life with you but of course you will be sad and miss him. We lost our old cat on the 24th December so I’m feeling all the ‘feels’ with you. ❤On a happier note thank you for sharing your gifts it is always fun to see what people receive. I have gone back to printing out physical photos and putting them in an album, nothing compares to a physical form. Scrapbooking is wonderful, enjoy..

Totally agree about how I used to love the excitement of receiving holiday / any photos back and putting the photos in albums. I have many many albums full of photos. Now I often pick a few favourites from my phone & pay to get them printed and then put them in albums as it’s just so nice to look at proper photos as memories. Also agree I love proper books, I received a cook book and 4 reading books for Christmas, all surprises and I love them all and look forward to a quiet afternoon to start reading the first one! You had some lovely thoughtful presents, I love to give presents and think it’s the thought that means the most. RIP Ron, reunited with Reg. x Happy and healthy new year to you and your family. Xxxx

I am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. Losing a pet is losing a family member. I couldn't agree more about reading books vs. a Kindle. While the Kindle is so handy for traveling, I love the smell of a physical book, the heft of a book, and looking at the dust cover. Happy New Year to you and yours, Caroline.

Could not agree more about a physical book ,especially a new one the smell and feel ia a pure delight. Great presents love the vase so tactile and the colours so pretty.Going to read the Lucy Pollock book as l worked with older people in my job for 27 years,will be interesting to see if her thoughts on aging and dealing with it are the same as mine.Love seeing other peples Christmas presents as basically l am quite nosy! Lovely gifts. I remember the thrill of picking up photographs from the chemist shop and fighting with my brother about who was first to look at them. For the last few years I've ordered a poster with photos taken of my grandchildren throughout the year. They are on the wall in my spare room where they play when they visit. They love looking at them.

Hi Caroline, what a lot of lovely presents you received. It is always nice to get things that you really love, and you even got some surprises that fitted that also. I am a fan of Christmas lists but this year found that there were not many things I really needed, as I tend to buy those as I go on during the year. My daughter and family always do a hamper as well as presents, and this includes most of the fairly routine things that I like such as Liquorice Allsorts, Thornton’s Alpini and Diplomat chocolates, small bottles of wine, Medjool dates, Suduko book, Papermate biros, To Do List etc. Every day things. I really appreciate something that has been given some thought rather than the cost. Your book choice was interesting, and I am looking forward to hearing about them particularly the Dr Pollock book. I jus love the LV small bag - that will give you pleasure every time you see it and use it. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us. I must rush now to pack my clothes for a 4 day holiday for New Year. Hubby bought me the Stanley Tucci book for Christmas.......it was the only thing on my list .....he'd also been paying attention while we were out shopping and bought me a mindfulness book to write in which I wasn't expecting. I don't have a Kindle or anything similar so only have physical books.....love the smell and feel of them 😁

Hi, loved seeing what you got for Christmas. Id love to see how you get on with the printer thingy. I’ve done a bit of scrapbooking and card making and now make junk journals and I’ve thought about getting one. I’m sure you’re aware if you start scrapbooking you’re heading off down a worm hole of purchases for supplies, stamps inks papers , it’s a lot, but it’s also rather relaxing so enjoy the adventure! What a lovely vase, so different from the tall ones that i usually see, you rarely see a round vase. Plus side that it is a limited edition so you will not be seeing many around and it will be a talking point. I too love cookery books, i took many bags of books recently to the supermarket charity book shelf and here i am again buying yet another cookbook, the Crabtree and Evelyn cookbook. It is gorgeous, mainly dinner party type recipes but a joy to look at the pictures and photos. I really miss the Crabtree and Evelyn shops. I used to live near Edinburgh and shop at the one on Hanover St regularly. I suppose that has gone the way of Jenners department store😢 I must try that tonka bean perfume it sounds right up my street. When my daughter got married at Gretna Green last year she had the table favours gift bags too, with a scratch card for each guest in. I didnt win😅. I hope you had a happy Christmas and hope you have a happy New Year too❤Gill

Well done, Ashley, what a beautiful LV bag and the vase is gorgeous! I've moved a bit away from scrapbooking - I used to make 12 x 12-inch albums with decorated pages, and it was just taking forever. I moved over to what is called memory planning - there are several You Tube videos that go over the basics (this is a good one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/baacpWN5qtalibc) - supplies are minimal, you need a notebook, photos, and some embellishments. I make my own embellishments with photos from the Internet of things I'm loving that particular week printed on clear sticker paper from Amazon. You can get all involved with ribbon, stickers, kits, and all sorts but you can also take the minimalist approach. Can't wait to see what you choose. Happy New Year!

Hi Caroline, my eldest son, only just five at the time excelled at his school sports. Of course we took lots of photos, back when we had to take them in to the chemists to be developed. The next morning we got up to find a sad little boy sitting in the lounge room surrounded by film. He wanted to see his photos so crept out of bed, opened up the camera thinking he would see them only to find undeveloped negatives. I don't know who was the saddest 😢 Reading comments I see darling Ron has died. I can't understand how I missed that sad news. My condolences as our pets are family aren't they? Wishing you all the best for the new year. I really enjoy your varied vlogs . Lots of thought go into them. You really are good at what you do.
