Weekend Warrior showcases the life and experience of people who choose to escape their everyday life through early modern reanactment. The documentary will dive into the depth of how people immerse themselves within reanactment and how they use it as a form of escapism to get away from modern life.

Like this documentary. I was a member of the Kings Army,Lunsfords Regiment, back in 1971/75. had great fun traveling around the country,meeting ,and fighting with some wonderful people. Good to know that there are folks continuing to do the same .

We are not that different then our English cousins, we share the same passion for history and enjoy the comrades as we do. We both same ideas about training and safety for new people in the hobby (American Civil War 1861-1865), escaping ever day life and not be you for the weekend. You are soldier or civilian and you but your real life behide you. Keep up the good work and keep History alive.

Ohh I wish people do that in my country, Im from Panamá and here we have some colonial history because the old city of Panama was the jewel in the crown of the Spanish Empire in the Americas because all the gold and silver from south america has to come here, we still have the old ruins of the 17th century city after it was burned and sacked by Henry Morgan. I wish people could organize Reenactment in the old city grounds with Muskets and swords and food, maybe I should try to organize it by myself, the only problem is the lact of interest of our goverments. Cheers!

Why wait for government support? Most of the reenactment groups in the USA got started during the centennial anniversary of the American Civil War and the bicentennial of the American Revolution by everyday people that wanted to help others visualize what happened during those conflicts. When they realized how fun it was, they organized societies and started holding regular events. It's certainly hard to start a group from scratch, and you'll probably get a lot of the wrong clothing and equipment when you first start. However, if you stick to it and keep spreading the word, you'll eventually have a group of dedicated, historically accurate members in your group. I say, "Go for it!"

interesting it looks quite fun with the live firearms and stuff but i'm honest i prefer my 12th century reeactment although i bet they have slightly nicer athenic kit
