In the minute 10:13 , is a fantastic export piece but I may be careful In Spain is common to see this kind of pieces and when you take out the fan is all destroyed because is extremely fragile ( light problems , humidity etc )

Thanks Peter, but the export plate at minute c.16:50 (this was $20.50 when you posted, now at over $200!) - this seller usually sells new copies - often quite good, and only a couple at a time, but look at the porcelain on the back, all those little evenly spaced black spots!! Nah.....

Thanks for the Grogan auction preview; the Ushak have a very low estimate with a great could-band border (a bit monochromatic compare to earliers samples), it's was woven from early 17th ; about lot 20 the Beshir weaving, the "childs prayers rugs", this appellation regularly concern small formats rugs adorned with a niche so-called mirhab, but do you know is the function is really for praying ? It's can be either reduction of larger prayer rugs without any function, just decorative ?

I got a large early 19th century Indian Pichhwai painting of Krishna and the Gopis on silk for $25 this week ( 4ft by 3 ft) at a local auction. This time of year bargains can be had. Happy Solstice

Peter the object with the missing pieces in the viewing windows, why would it be reticulated ? that would hide the nice paintings behind it. I think it may have had a inserted frame around it made of silver or simillar like a moulded picture frame, I think I could also detect some evidence of an iinserted frame as the outside colour shows some evidence of rubbing or fading shaddowy areas on the outher sides arround the window.

If there was some way to see the name of the auction house in print while you are talking, it would certainly be helpful in following up and locating the piece.

I say this with all the respect in the world, but Joannie's is definitely a questionable seller. There have been several things that appear as though they bid on their own items, and I don't buy their provenance stories. I think they throw in some fake things here and there. In my opinion, if they sell fakes, and they get good money, they're going to keep sourcing them. Just my opinion, however. Taking a note from the master of the opinion, Peter Combs 😊 happy holidays everyone!

Totally agree. Why do they continue to get so much press? They’ve been caught doing dubious things again and again and do not deserve the benefit of the doubt at this point imo.
