Nice haul, George! The pliers marked P.S. & W. Peck, Stow and Wilcox (PEXTO). Pretty old pliers. The "battery pliers" are actually gas pliers. I have several and at least two are PEXTO. And Precious is just that! I have a couple similar to that in the "collection." George

G’day brother. Good selection of stuff. I reckon the veneers are the winner there. Australian lace wood is Grevillea Robusta, known as a Grevillea over here. Nice wood if you can get it. The seed pods or flower stalks dry to a hard wood and are used by a lot of Aussie wood turners for handles, etc. Grows up north, over 2,000 kilometres from here. Great to see you again buddy. Look after yourself and your family mate.

My first thought is always “don’t we all have enough wrenches and sockets? How many do we need?” But on the other hand, they’re such iconic shapes, and cheap to collect, so why not. I’ve got an adapter for the ratchet, so I can use all my hex bits: sometimes (quite often actually) you want that torque on a regular screw. Even better, I also have an adapter for a brace: you can push and apply as much torque as you need, nothing slips.

Most of the sockets and wrenches get passed along to others..I only collect a few brands. Knowing that those adapters are out there means I need to find those now.. Take care.

I just don't have any use for them.. The only gas lines I work on is at work and we have our own tools for that.

@@Uwannawatch Well I know it is ideal to keep stuff you want to use, but we all keep stuff just because they are cool and tools made of different materials are cool to me. Did you ever watch ALF when you were younger? The plumbing in his spaceship was made of materials precious on earth, but common on his world. Somehow the Ampco tools just feel special, so I like finding them! Someday I will get my act together and set up a wire wheel and polisher outside to clean and polish them up without creating a hazzard in my shop. Someday.... 😉😉😉
