Love how honest you are with your tours…. Both good and bad. I could imagine it would be tempting to try and appear like everything is perfect all the time, but kudos to you for giving the full picture! It’s very helpful actually

I’m so glad that you wrote this! I don’t like to pretend it’s all rainbows and unicorns 😂 gardening can be hard work and it can be heartbreaking. I think it’s important be realistic. I appreciate your comment very much!

I feel your pain regarding the lack of rain. We had a pop up rain shower early one morning last week, .20” of rain. I was doing the dance.

You should consider drip irragation. It done wonders for our plants

Beautiful looking garden, its a pollinators dream. Maybe we could send some of the rain we are getting in Ireland over to you to help your plants. They tried to bring in water rates over here a few years ago but because of the protests the government backed down. If we do have a dry spell they bring in a hose pipe ban even though we get a lot rain in winter and spring. We have a lot of rain barrels out the back and we prefer to use rain water because we live in a hard water area.

We have finally started our rains in Florida. In some places there has been too much too fast. I hope you start soon. I often think about the people who had to live through those “dust bowl,” years in the 30’s. Can you even imagine?

I hear you. we are close to water restrictions here if we do not get any measurable rain soon. And my water bill is going to be up for sure next month. South Kansas.

If you want those baptisias to survive going forward, at least treat with BT this year. Those Uresiphita reversalis caterpillars are relentless and not a first choice food for many species. Any stage of animal growth will attempt to overwinter at that spot, preparing for an early start next year. I like to keep the soil bare in areas that are pest prone, encouraging birds and wasps to forage and move in. If you have any desire to add flowering herbs or aster family plants to that area, they will help bring in predatory flies to keep things in check. Good luck with your extra project, that you totally have time for.

I live in northern Delaware and we are going through dry conditions. No measurable rain for the past few weeks and none forecast in near future. I have quit planting for now. It will be in the nineties all week.

Yeah it really is too dry to plant, but then keeping everything alive in pots is also hard. Ugh I just wish it would rain! 🌧️

When the annuals (poppies) are done do you just pull them out? And just mulch until next year? Or do you plant another annual for summer?
@BrieThePlantLady
@BrieThePlantLady Ай бұрын
The spring annuals get removed and warm season plants are installed. I show this process in many videos.

Hi Brie I have CA poppies starting to make seed pods and was wondering when they should be collected?
@BrieThePlantLady
@BrieThePlantLady Ай бұрын
Yes collect when they turn tan. They might explode in your hands but that’s the sign they are ripe.
