Another week of high temps and no rain. Keeping up with watering is becoming unrealistic, so we are focusing on maintaining zone 1 beds.

We had wicked thunderstorms the last 2 days in CT. Gave my dahlias a beat down and lost a couple. 😢 Wishing you a soft gentle rain.

Great garden tour, it was the bees knees. In Ireland we have only been dry for the last ten days with temperatures of twenty to twenty five degree celsius. We don't pay for water in Ireland but I still only give the plants enough to keep them going. We use watering cans to water the flowerbeds and containers to conserve the water. Hope the heavens open soon with lots of rain for your plants.

Garden looks good as always. Love the pathway. I'm in CA 9b. Can't imagine having rain in the summertime, but I wish we did...at least once in awhile.

Your garden is a little stressed but still beautiful. Here, N TX, we had a very wet spring but now are quite dry. That’s not unusual like it is for you. I’m calling the back quarter of the yard The Meadow this year. Just can’t get to weeding it yet.

There is no rain here in So California! I had been complaining about our May Gray that then turned into June Gloom. Well, the first day of summer all the overcast skies are gone and I am having trouble keeping up with the water requirements of my plants. I’ve just added more drip irrigation to my back yard to keep the plants happy.

Garden Triage! Which plants to save….which to abandon to nature. 😢 Standing in my backyard yesterday, I was struck by how many tree leaves are falling. Bit too similar to autumn. We have a 40% chance of rain today? I’m not seeing it at all. Satellite images show a few clouds in other counties….sigh. Thank you for giving such an honest portrayal of gardening. This is quite alarming to experience. Water restrictions? Ack! I hope that doesn’t happen here (community well). Think I may pop over to Olives Tree Farm to “gather intel”. They’re 5th generation farmers here and I’m curious as to their insights.

We have been experiencing extremely dryness in my area of Kentucky, with nothing but 90-98 temperatures for weeks and no signs of it changing. With that said, I was in Lowe’s trying to explain to my wife the way Brie uses her sprinkler lol. Can you do a quick video on how you made the pvc stand and what kind of sprinkler you use with it? I know you mentioned it like a year or two ago but I’d like to copy your method to keep from moving sprinklers within my beds to not be stomping on the plants. Thanks!

Yep, we made a video on that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5eXiKCFpMySj5osi=F4xDGY3bESPgz0xJ

Garden Answer Laura lives in high desert. Drip irrigation and a well makes it much easier.

And having your own well helps. We must pay for our water.

Drip does not cover enough ground plane. Its fine for trees and shrubs but not the rest of the open space that I like to engage.

We have nno butterflies or moths, do you? From zone 7, NJ
@BrieThePlantLadyАй бұрын
Yes I have quite a few of both. Are your neighbors hiring mosquito Joe? If so, they are killing all the insects, not just mosquitos 🦟

Here in CT, no butterflies yet. They don’t usually show up till later in the season though.

Great question! I’m on the other side of Brie’s town - yes, bees and butterflies are present. There have been MORE bees in prior years and I e seen very few Swallowtails this season. Oodles of dragonflies here!
