Hmmm, with all the SMC language, one has to be careful. You might get 5 different answers to that question I am afraid. To me - it acts like both. I use IMBs for POIs - areas to trade from BUT also for areas to trade INTO, which you can say is Liquidity Areas (where price is driven towards). But it doesn't really matter if it's a LQ area or not. What matters is you know how to use it.

Yes they are technically fvg refer that one side is offered meaning their I lack of another so they draw price to balance it

I identify fvg's and then go to a lower time frame to find the areas of supply and demand where I could expect the fvg can act as a buy or sell zone. I don't like looking at the entire fvg as a zone.
