I would really love a book club thing. Where at the start of the month you announce some books you’re reading in that month and your preread thoughts and then we can all read them during the month and then at the end of the month you talk about your thoughts and do your recaps. Discuss things in the comments and whatnot obviously with spoilers 😂

OMG! I totally agree with the sizing of couples mentioned in romance books. And I almost feel like they always explain as the ML to be some kind of giant while saying the FL is an ant size human😂 Whenever I read romance books, reading about the size totally ticks me off and makes me considered to just DNF it😂 No hate to love on the brain because the story was great but just for overall romance books that likes to mention the size of the character.

I totally agree with you about the enemies-to-lovers trope! Like, I don’t want it to be called enemies-to-lovers unless they both absolutely despise each other!!!!!!

Totally agree with you - ‘misunderstandings to lovers’ does not equal ‘enemies to lovers’. Agree that the guy does not dislike her. It’s overplayed to create drama. Felt sorry for the guy main character

as someone who has read the love hypothesis and all three STEMinist novellas by ali hazelwood i felt like love on the brain was the same story with the same characters with minor tweaks and it felt very repetitive reading the same thing for the 5th time (especially since i read the 3 novellas this year too)

I’m a STEM girl and I really wanted to enjoy the love hypothesis but I couldn’t get into it. I realised that I don’t really enjoy the popular books. I guess I’m more into the period romance books 😅 I also have a book similar to clean. It’s taken me a while to read through it because it’s really heavy and also deals with rehab and patients struggling with addictions. Lovely vlog as always Rachel ❤

I think I made the mistake of reading Ali Hazelwoods novellas then read Love on the Brain. I adored the Love Hypothesis but as I kept reading her books I don’t know if I actually enjoy her writing style. I 100% agree with the mainly humongous man and tiny delicate female. She does it in every book. I’m into women in STEM but eventually they all start blending together. Also the “villain” of the book was extremely predictable… whole book was predictable.

Hey Rachel and beautiful viewers, PLEASE let me know what you think of this hot take: I’m a huge reader and love reading non fiction (biography, psychology, philosophy and business) as well as non fiction (thriller, crime, literature and comedy) and I watch a lot of recommendation and TBR videos on book tok and KZbin but I’ve been noticing a few things 1- toxic relationships in books. I don’t know why these romance novels have such toxic behavior, similar to notebook, it’s not this extreme toxic romance that it’s easy to spot the red flags. It’s the kind of crying, running and chasing love that is romanticized into this intense passion. But I don’t think this idea is healthy or good for anyone, and I’m concerned all this people are reading these romance books and wanting this kind of romance that’s not GOOD! Or even the summer I turned pretty, 2 brothers are in love with the same girl? Kidnapped love? Cheating love? Enemies fall in love? Like this is all toxic. Is jt just me? 2- the competition between who’s the better reader? This doesn’t make sense to me at all. It is not impressive if you’ve read 100+ romance books in a year. To me, it’s like saying you’re better because you’ve watched 100+ romantic tv shows in a year. It’s a hobby, it’s something you enjoy doing so why turn it into a competition? Also, thriller and romance and generally non fiction reads are super super quick to read
@dreamer6262 жыл бұрын
In response to #1: The reason I stopped reading Colleen Hoover books after reading 3 is because I found the relationships to be a bit too toxic for me so it's not just you. :) Also I took Magnolia Parks off of my TBR when I found out it had a toxic relationship.

I agree i hate when they consistently talk about the characters sizes like once yeah i can understand when the characters are initially introduced and you’re describing them to get a better picture while reading but once the character set up is done it’s unnecessary to keep repeating it and thats why i absolutely refuse to read anything by ali hazelwood all i ever hear is that she puts it in every other page i also wasn’t the biggest fan of kylo ren and whatever the female characters name was in the newer star wars movies i keep hearing the characters being compared with those characters which i don’t love
