Just realising now that Editing Bob forgot to add a picture of the dog! Sorry! I will try to get him in the next one!

Citizen is extraordinary. I think I truly understood the impact of micro-aggressions by reading it a few years ago.

Oh it’s wonderful, right! There’s such a precision and wisdom to the writing that I found utterly engaging.

Toward Eternity is on my TBR - it sounds completely up my alley. Citizen sounds interesting, too.

Yes! I think it’s such a fun take on the more ‘typical’ sci-fi tropes!

I’m still holding out for you eventually dog sitting in a mansion or castle. Sitting in a giant wing back chair, with a brandy in one hand, surrounded by a Great Dane , Irish Wolfhound and an Alsatian at your feet.

Love to see dog sitting Bob. Mod dog next time please! I have Let Us Descend on my wish list and am curious about Spent Light.

I saw the revival of The Normal Heart on Broadway and it was brilliant.

Thank you so much for your thoughts on TOWARD ETERNITY, Bob! It’s so gratifying to have been read so carefully 😭💜 What survives after copy after copy, recitation after recitation was definitely my preoccupation in this book, especially as a translator (what is carried over in the translation and what is not)~*

I can highly recommend Larry Kramer's final novel before he died "The American People: Volume 2" which traces the whole AIDS crisis and its facilitators in a manner as exuberant and not giving a damn as Milward's "Man-Eating Typewriter" only this was for real.

The New York Times today has an interesting article on translators as authors and Hur and Croft are prominently covered, its work seeking out.
