I am one of your newest subscribers and I am so happy to have found your channel! My youngest of my three monkeys flew the nest last year so that actually wasn’t why I was searching for ideas on what to pack for kid’s lunches. To be completely honest, the real reason is because I want ideas for me! I am hypoglycemic and I am not that good about remembering to eat BEFORE my blood sugar gets too low and I get sick or even worse scare people around me and pass out. To make things worse…I’m picky and basically let’s just say…I don’t exactly understand adults and their eating tastes or choices. I relate MUCH better to children and toddlers (me and my 2 year old toddler. I like smaller portions of a variety of choices. I like salad and veggies but I’m not a rabbit. I need more then just salad and a water and I’m not ashamed to want a cookie, apple sauce, chobani flip, Gogurt, Laughing Cow cheese, Tillamook cheese squares, Dry cheerios, I definitely want those much more than a protein bar. go hurt, over a protein bar. Anyway, I thought maybe if I came up with a solution to try to help with the obstacles I was facing when my blood sugar did crash and my husband would ask me what I wanted to eat and even thiough we have a house full of food that I love…I could never think of anything or nothing sounded good or I was too nauseous and then I just wouldn’t eat…or…the other problem was that one of the reasons I wasn’t eating lunch is that I don’t like to think about food and make decisions so if I preplanned and made myself a bento lunch and snack box in advance that had the prep work already done…what excuse would I have? I could have my little tangerines pulled and ready to eat. My apples sliced like I like so that I’ll actually eat them. I love them but who wants to eat them whole? I could have my delicious bell peppers cut and ready to eat. Celery washed…peanut butter ready. Avocado ready to eat. Nuts in a container. Granola bars packed. Laughing cow cheese. Cheese sticks. Cheese squares. Mini rice Cakes. Propel. Dasani water, Diet A&W Root Beer, Apple Apple Juice Boxes, And then of course let’s not forget all the great ideas that I get to have to make hot choices so that I always have variety! Yes, yes, yes! It’s not that I don’t like food. I actually love it. I just don’t like dealing with it or making decisions and then when it’s too late and I’m sick…it’s no fun. Oh. Big, big hug to you. I can totally do this. With this solution I just may finally be able to put some weight on so that people quit being so mean to me and saying I purposely don’t eat. It’s ironic. I used to weigh 350 pounds and people were mean and…now…116…continued body shaming. But I don’t care. Health and nutrition and not passing out are my only goals and because of your hard work, I think my plan will bring a lot of positive results!

I think it's great you asked your boys to refer to your videos. They will know how to cook by water hinge you and can even show their future wives some of their favorite meals. If youtube stays up, even your grandkids will be able to view the footage and great grands! Thanks for sharing these recipe ideas. Request: when you cook shellfish or pork can you share substitution ideas for people who don't eat those things? For example, coukd I use diced salmon instead of shrimp for fried rice and season the same?

Dang! That potato salad looked really good! It's so hard to send breaded items in a thermos. Condensation ruins it. One day when you're old and need to be cared for, you can bring up all these yummy meals and all the love and effort you put into them, and use that as guilt. LOL 😆 Just kidding. 😉😁

I have a question. Do you hand wash boxes or put them is dishwasher? I know almost all lunch boxes are dishwasher safe but after couple of washes things are breaking.

I'm wondering how early do you wake up to cook your boys lunch? I was thinking about 1hr early. Like my son leaves for school at 740am and then I would wake up about 630am, do you think that's enough time?

From my experience it keeps it warm, it also depends on the brand... I like using thermos brand, it keeps the food warm..

Hi Winny, you are so gorgeous and a dedicated mum. My kids have multiple food allergies. They can have chicken but i have been so scared to give them in lunch because i make lunch at 8 am and daughter has lunch around 1.30 pm. Will it be safe to pack nuggets or a curry like chiken tikka masala with rice in a food jar for that long? Not sure if tomato based curry can last that long? But i see you packed beef mince chilli.
