Thx for another comment of the week! I also think that three videos a week are more than enough. Even three may be too much in the long run and I don´t want that you burn out. Didn´t read anything this week (so basically a "lost" week! LOL) I hope I can get some stuff on a local flea market on sunday but, sadly, my luck regarding sci-fi wasn´t great the last couple of times. Have a good weekend, Jon!

Jon I must admit I've gotten lazy in my later years. I don't seem to want intellectual stimulation so much nowadays as I need to be entertained instead and wrap my head and heart around a good adventure. But you, my friend, still have the fever and it's a lot of fun sharing in your enthusiasm. A spirit-lifting experience here always. Cheers!

Rather than Gibson, I'm recommending Daniel Keys Moran. Start with Emerald Eyes, which is frankly astonishing. The Continuing Time has an epic, vast scope, that defies attempts to measure it. While somewhat incoherent at times, mostly due to Moran taking time off for family and minor, inconsequential things like that, 🙄 thus leaving holes in the continuity, his narrative voice and style far outshines Gibson. I am thinking of reading the Sun Eater series. I'm in the middle of revisiting old friends, Zelazny and Heinlein, so I may wait for the release of book 7. 🙂 😛

I'm currently enjoying the 4th Hooded Swan book. They have this weird 70's cynicism that I'm getting a kick out of. You should make however many videos as feels correct to you. I do enjoy coming along with you to peruse the used bookstore shelves.

I've taken my camera on my last few visits to my local charity bookshop but didn't use the footage because I found very little there, seemed a bit pointless. Next time, perhaps. Thanks for watching 👀!

Overall I liked the Titan trilogy of books by Varley, but the 2nd and 3rd books I thought dragged out a bit.

@@SciFiScavenger If you're reading Burning Chrome, I forget, did you read Neuromancer? I ask because I recently found a reprinting of Web of Angels by John M. Ford a cyberpunk original which predates Neuromancer by 4 years.

Not yet, no, this'll be my first Gibson. There's also John Brunner's Shockwave Rider which predates Neuromancer by a few years I think.

After a few pages of Varley, I lost interest, back in high school. Eh. His "voice" was grating, from what I remember. 😮🐶
