Jess I just needed to tell you. A few weeks ago (or maybe more) you posted a video about how we put off doing things we are scared of and keep saying “one day I’ll do it” you said “well eventually that day needs to come’. That video hit me right at the right time. And because of you I have put myself back in school for my bachelor’s degree. Thank you for being a positive presence in this world. Also thank you for making me more comfortable with wanting to learn more about Christianity. I bought a devotional to start taking baby steps and I love it. Just thank you for being unapologetically you.

3 years ago we started the do the dishes every night and unload first thing in the morning so then we just load it throughout the day! It has been a game changer for me who HATES dishes!! It’s now a habit I do unconsciously and my kitchen looks so much better because of it!

Have you ever thought about getting (and vlogging about) a "color analysis" done? Those are always fun to watch. I did not notice how "warm" your camel coat was until you held up (27:53mins) the cool and unsaturated lilac headband. The instant difference it made to your completion was interesting. All that natural light in the car really brought out the contrast.

@@Vonmacfire Me too! My first impressions are usually wrong when I watch those videos. Regarding Jessica, the lilac did not seem as nice as her warm camel coat, maybe the lilac was too soft and light though. Perhaps her colors need more saturation.

mason jars don't automatically vacuum seal themselves. you either need to heat the contents up and then put a lid on or get a special device that vacuum seals them. Otherwise, it's a lidded vessel just like any other lidded vessel. I guess since it's tall, only a couple of them are actually in contact with the dripped water, so that might help make fruit last longer

As you know, I teach and my wife and mother of two daughters, who are now grown out of the house. However, when they were young I got into the habit of eating earlier and loading the dishwasher to run. That way it was done and could be unloaded before bed. There is nothing like walking out to a clean kitchen in the morning and a pot, a freshly roasted coffee! That being said, I also began doing a load of laundry every morning and putting it in the dryer as soon as I got home from school. usually by the time we finish dinner, it was ready to fold. Laundry did not pile up and I felt accomplished. I also have my husband give his bathroom a quick cleaning and I do the same with mine. You never know if one of you could get sick during the day and have to come home. Who wants a dirty bathroom if you are sick? A cleaning takes the matter of less than five minutes if that. We also both swish Pine-Sol around in our toilet. His bathroom is right by the door we walk into the house and just coming into that fresh clean scent each day as welcoming. Little changes make for a world of difference. You know this is my year for rediscovering myself and any other little changes I can make, throw them at me! Girl, I love your hair! I am getting ready to do mine this weekend. I generally go a bit darker during the winter, however, those little flex of pixie dust are beginning to shine through, and I’m not quite ready for that!😮😩 So color it this weekend! Love you, dear Jess, and I’m in love with these vlogs!❤ keep them coming and give those precious little girls a big hug!

I was raised a codependent (people pleaser) and realized that it was an extremely toxic situation growing up. I've since left my entire family behind for the sake of my mental health (best but hardest decision ever). I wish I could say that the church has become my family but sadly after trying for years to meet women/couples and connect, they are so incredibly exclusive and judgmental. If you don't have a family or kids then you don't belong in the church (I'm married 14 years, no family or kids). The reason I'm posting this is to create awareness in the church. I will not live my life based on the opinions of others (having kids just to fit in) and I don't understand why the church is so cold towards people like me without giving me a chance to get to know who I (me), I am, as a human being. I turn 37 tomorrow.

"as long as ...-just to note thet word added was "do" and if we change that like the french, all the things we list wafter that ill sort themselves in a new way as uman beings vs. human doings.I feel loved when I show love give love ,accept love>All the proving, pleasing, doubting, shame spirals can pause the judgement cycles so we don't pass them down to our children or deflect them to others or buy it. A wonderful contemplation. I pause alot more as a grieving new widow. I'm judged for it as crazy but my heartbeat that reminds me of the love I held and how love remains still with us beyond all the busy and tasks and goals and accomplishments. Thank you for your channel and your authentic kindness and self reflection.

Love the hair!!! Looking forward to your book update. Recently I discovered our local library has an online book club. We vote on the next book and then you have 3 months to read it which is nice because it gives you plenty of time to get it from the library. Then throughout the three months there are check ins saying what chapter you should be done with by that point. And the moderator puts questions on the forum for us to answer. When we check the books out we get 3 weeks so I usually read it early on in the quarter and then when I get an email notification that a new question is posted I go online and respond and read what others wrote. It’s fun and it’s getting me to read books I wouldn’t have ordinarily just because I hadn’t heard of them. Next quarter we are reading The Dutch House which I’m super excited about because that one was on my list. I know you have mentioned your library before but this is a reminder to all that libraries offer more than we realize.

My mother is genuine, she never lied to me, she's trust worthy, and a woman of faith. I seek those traits in friendship and that helps me to feel accepted amongst my peers. Despite a personality like my dad's, my values are very similar to hers. ❤ I do not believe "everyone is my friend" because I am cautious. I feel my very small and very tight circle of friends is solid.

New subscriber here. Really enjoying your content. I love the variety of things you talk about. I had to laugh when you talked about the sun bringing you so much joy. I live in Indiana too so can totally relate to our lack of sun, particularly in the winter. My son moved to FL after college. After he’d lived there maybe a month, I asked him how he was doing/feeling. He said “I feel great Mom, I think it’s the sun!” My dr regularly puts me on massive doses of vitamin D in the winter so that tells you just how sun deprived we are here. 🫤

Wow Jess…. This chat about “I feel loved/accepted…” couldn’t have come at a better time. I started seeing a therapist recently. We have just sorta dive’d into my need to take care of other people. I am a 100% perfectionist and if it’s not perfect, I’m freakin out. I figured it out… my life is so full of chaos, because I’m constantly taking on everyone else’s problems, that the things I feel like I can control, I must control. For example, having a spotless house. I don’t want people to see the chaos inside of me, so I put on this facade of perfectionism. I’m taking this as a nod from above… I’m gonna figure this out, for ME! ❤

Food for thought that I think you might benefit from… household work and being a mom is a job too. Just because it’s not paid, doesn’t mean it’s not important. Often times, mom work and housework is undermined. If you think about it, if you didn’t do the household work or mom work, you’d have to pay someone else to. It has way more value than you realize. ❤

Oh my goodness, I can't believe we had the same meal! Hurst's HamBeen 15-bean soup must be trending. My mom usually makes soup beans after Christmas with the ham bone. I wanted to try a recipe and Googled ham bone and bean soup. I found a recipe from Holly Spend With Pennies and she uses Hurst's HamBeens 15-bean soup mix. It's basically what's on the bag but adapted for the slow cooker. I also made a box of Duncan Hines Dolly Parton sweet cornbread in a cast-iron skillet. We both enjoyed the soup. I'm glad I blitzed up some of the beans to thicken. I did think 2 cans of drained diced tomato would be even better. Love your new color, by the way. It's buttery bronde.

If you like The Crown, I really highly suggest that you read the book: “Spare” by Prince Harry, it’s not at all what you could imagine, there is nothing mean in it, on contrary, it’s probably the most touching book I have ever read. It may make you question what is said in The Crown, I actually don’t know because I didn’t watch everything regarding The Crown yet. Another thing I wanted to say: of course do your cleaning tasks while you are with your kids, it’s how I learned: by observing my nanny or my grandmother cleaning our home, or cooking, or gardening. Not that your daughters are meant to clean or cook in the future, but it’s better to know how to do it, just in case. And who knows? Maybe one day they will insist on helping you.

Wait a second. You read during your hair appointments? That’s genius! I like my hair stylist but struggle to keep a conversation going for the 3 hours I’m there… How do you introduce the reading part? Just do greetings then pull it out and read? This is a game changer. Also, love your hair and these vlogs!

Jess, like you I am a staunch believer in "the book is always better" - but Lessons in Chemistry was one of only 2 instances where I liked the series better than the book! I felt like although the content was pretty similar, there was a different, maybe more hopeful tone to the series. Would love to hear your thoughts when you've experienced both!

My friends and I formed our own book club during the pandemic. It lasted a little more than a year but we read quite a few books. We wood give each other about a month and come together for a zoom meeting to discuss it. It was quite fun!
