Cleaners dogs inside leg measurements had me 😂. NS&I are very difficult to deal with, as soon as my son turned 18 I could no longer access his account, he had to have his own holders number. I wonder if that’s the problem with Williams…. although NS&I should know that! Your make up always looks so lovely.

You’re not alone in that cruise “error”. Friends of mine booked a west coast US/Canada/Alaska cruise and then realized it dropped them in Alaska. They had to change their return flights to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in order to get home. Luckily they realized before landing in Alaska with no way home. Not a trip one could do by coach! On the plus side I’ve seen videos of Fred Olsen Cruises and the ships look very nice. Enjoy!

I went on a a F Olsen cruise about 30yrs ago and it was a bit more exclusive than the big ones , it was very nice. But I felt too young at the time fora cruise. But yes we went on the Black Watch I don’t know what they are called now. Oh my a girl after my own heart Anything Cherry 🍒 yes yes n yes. Receipt and showing how you do the bread n soup when you get back for a winter warmer Yes having problems with my mums PB who died and it’s a nightmare

You wont be disappointed with Fred Olsen. We went last year to Norway to the Fjords with them and it was a fantastic cruise, first class service, ship, food and staff amazing.

I only cook for myself and I have to plan what I buy, otherwise I end up getting too many treats! It's good to be able to choose what I want though and not have to take other people's food choices into consideration 😊

Dealing with automated systems that don't work drives everybody crazy. I work for the NHS and telephoning GPs makes me lose the will to live. I now just email them with the details of the patient and a brief summary of what I need to discuss and ask them to get back to me on my direct line, putting the word direct in bold. I miss out on hours of being played classical music and being asked to dial different numbers and where I am in the queue! I can now get on and do my job. Take care. Wendy

I think it’s great that you keep in touch with your ex-sister in law. Weather wise, here in New Zealand its warm and muggy. I hate the humidity as it makes my hair to extremely frizzy. shame Afro’s aren’t trending again. We always grizzle about the weather don’t we, but it does so affects us mentally. Fred Olsen is my preferred cruise line. It doesn't have as much going on as Cunard or P + O, but for a more relaxing, genteel cruise it's perfect. I always take a loaded kindle so have no problem. Your error with the booking was very useful though as I have often seen cruises that start and end in different ports and disregarded them - I didn't realise that a coach transfer was available, I shall now look again,

Hi Tracey, I do have a candle warmer, I use it in the bedroom rather than burning candles in there and I quite like it but I hate having to tip the wax away manually when it's no longer scented.x

I took my mum on a mini cruise with Fred Olsen to Northern Spain for 6 nights it was brilliant, food was amazing and staff were lovely. I am sure you will enjoy it with your mum.

Caroline i feel your pain , i really do . I had a similar issue with sky recently. Hours and hours onbtbe phine passed from pillar to post for weeks . No calls back that were promised many times . I was so upset I ended up in tears of frustration on one call .

I can really relate to your NS&I issues - I had a similar problem a couple of years back. I also found them less than helpful when trying to sort some winning cheques that had gone out of date that my Mum had. In the end I got it sorted but like you I was in a terrible rage. So many things today seem to have gone to pot and there’s a general malaise which I find doubly infuriating as always try to do my job correctly. Take a break from it I would and maybe try again in the New Year - a letter of complaint is called for I think. xx

I recommended the colour wow to Caroline a while ago (there may have been others too that recommended) and I have also tried the Aldi one, not a patch on Wow, sadly! The wow one isn’t cheap but with having short hair, it lasts!

Recently been through a similar scenario with NS&I and I did have to remind my husband (several times!) how awful it would be if it was made easy and someone had access to all our money…who would we blame then? Them, obviously!! 😂 We got there in the end but it took a while with them having to send stuff in the post and then send again as it was wrong! Glad you are liking Wow, it’s amazing stuff!

Lovely vlog, Caroline. I found some premium bonds that my parents bought in the 1950s. I can’t imagine trying to get anything back from them and I do wonder if they’ve won any money in all those years. By the sound of it, I’ll probably never know! Have a fab holiday and cruise.

I empathise with your NS&I struggles , isn’t it odd when we want to access our money it is difficult but when the government want our money it is made so easy for them to take it ! I hear that you now have to allow government access to bank accounts if you want to claim your state pension , introduced by last administration I believe , what a blooming cheek , I except they are hoping some may not bother to claim it at all

Fortunately I don’t have any premium bonds but I’m supposed to be able to re order my meds online and now they want a 2step verification- when I mentioned at the surgery that i can’t get in to re order meds I was told “oh a lot of people have said that”. Well beep beep fix it then so we can order stuff without having to drive 5 miles with a piece of paper and then wait 7 days on Boots texting me!! Sorry rant over 😫 I have a friend who works as a musician on a Fred Olson cruise ship and he’s been with them for a long time and he’s a very fussy about his cruise ship employers - which cruise ship are you booked on? p.s. love your honesty Caroline. Oh, I feel your pain with that phone call. You should do something once you have calmed down,maybe report them to financial ombusman or as someone said Money Saving Expert. Why should they get away with treating people like that. We would all be rich if we kept other people's money and not allow them access to it. I hope you had a bottle of wine to have a drink from after that. I love the bottle light as i save nice shaped gin bottles to paint on or for my grandchildren to do the same but now getting lights for them makes it all more exciting. Thanks !
