I always salt was to season the pasta. And to help not make the pasta stick together = make sure the pasta is like on a boil so it's continuously rolling whilst cooking. So you need a bit of water.

+rosemonje i heard you're not supposed to put oil to the boiling water, but you can after you strain the pasta.

+The Fashion Citizen not 100% sure if cooking rice noodles (vermicelli) is similar to pasta. but try rinsing the just finished boiling noodles under cold water when you take it off the stovetop. I drain it in a strainer under cold water. it supposedly stops the cooking process.

when they are sticky you're overcooking it. get your water to roll to a boil and when you put the pasta in, keep your eye on it and lower the heat a bit. every now and again take one out and throw it against the wall until it sticks and then they're done, this usually works for me :)

Boil the water and add some light salt if desired, then throw in the pasta and stir the pasta often as it cooks, it should not get sticky. You carefully pick one out and touch the pasta to see if it's done but be careful you don't burn you're self. Hope it helps :)

Add some olive oil to your pot and let it reach boiling point before you add your pasta in. Also I like to run it under cold water after its cooked and drained. I may have read somewhere that the sudden change of temperature stops the pasta/noodles from cooking further and keeps them from sticking together.
@TheAliJoJoHo8 жыл бұрын
Salt the water, wait for it to boil before you put the noodles in. Time the pasta/noodles based on the package directions. Usually it's around 7-10 minutes. Stir occasionally. That should help prevent stickiness!

i used to have the problem that every time i cooked pasta it turned out way too slippery! i found out it was because i was rinsing the cooked noodles pretty thoroughly when i strained them, which apparently washes the excess starch off. have you tried rinsing them after you cook them?
@MrSherrybabiii8 жыл бұрын
First off, your vlogs MAKE my Sundays. If you like spicy food the House Of Tsang szechuan spicy sauce is bangin'. As for cooking al dente pasta, if it's sticky you're probably overcooking it. Wait until the pot is boiling to salt the water, then drain the pasta once there's still a little bit of a bite to it. Hope that helps!

Steph, your pasta is sticky because of the starchy water content. Rinse out your pasta after cooking and then drain. Then add a teaspoon or so of vegetable or olive oil and shake it up a little. That should solve your problem. :)

Pasta Noodles: Boil water then turn off the burner when it has bubbled for a few seconds. Add your pasta, pinch of salt, stir, cover with a lid and leave it off the burner for about 15 minutes stirring about every 5 minutes (basically let it soak in hot water). Taste the pasta around the 11-12 minute mark depending on the pasta it might be done early (I usually cut through it so I can see what it looks like then eat it). When you're done drain it and wash it with room tempurature water then cover it and put it aside until you're ready to eat it. :)) Enjoy !!!

Whenever I cook pasta I make sure to use a big pot so the pasta has room to move around. I normally don't put oil in my pasta because my BIL is a chef and he hates that whole concept. So once the water boils I put a ton of salt. Salt it like the sea. Then when I put the pasta in, i stir them around. I cook it al dente. In the middle of cooking I stir again. When it's done I strain it. Don't rinse the pasta.
@oliviafelk78348 жыл бұрын
to keep the pasta from being sticky pour some olive oil into the water right after you add the noodles 😊
@maryjeimz39038 жыл бұрын
if its sticky, then more than likely you are overcooking it. you want to make it al dente, 9-13 minutes. because when you mix it with the sauce afterwards it'll further cook. you also want to make sure when you are done cooking the pasta you rinse it in cold water to stop the cooking. if you overcook it when boiling then mix it with the hot sauce afterwards, ovemixing it can also cause the sticky like texture.
