When you spoke about dementia (no personal possessions) I felt it just about sums up how a person ends their days when they've been suffering from this cruel condition. My mum couldn't even remember that she had ever been married. Never easy losing our parents - I really enjoyed being in the sandwich (between younger and older family members) and miss terribly the interactions I long enjoyed with family members older than myself.

Always enjoy your posts ❤ end of life is so sad. I’m mum to one son & I often look at my ‘treasures’ & think “well he won’t want any of it” so I’m already (at 55) trying to go though things & clear out! I remember my husbands Nan going into a home & she insisted in taking her set of pans with her that you had had as a beautiful young bride as a wedding present. Isn’t it strange what we do actually treasure. Much love to you, it will get easier once everything is sorted out & you can start to remember the good times & have a good old belly laugh at the times you shared 🤗

Caroline, my dad died when I was 14 many years ago, and I still grieve. Grief really is open-ended, sometimes it just reappears, the price we pay for love. My mother is gone now too but I cherished the mother-daughter outings we had, the laughs and silliness. Your Mum looks very well! Well done William and I love the blinds pattern! WOW, that was a jam packed video Caroline. I've just picked out a couple of bits to comment on. I said that the stripey dress wasn't for me, when you did that haul. However, teamed up with that jacket and blue shoes. I could see what the transformation would be and I think it would look really smart. I love the blind fabric that you have chosen. I think it will look fab in your bathroom. Probate. We are going through it. Complications too but great solicitor is sorting it. Weather- walked outside to sit in garden on what appeared to be a nice day and promptly walked straight back in. Too cold. Nice to see your mum. 1st May today, onwards and upwards. Enjoy May and all it brings. As I am back in the hearing world, after a few months of being deaf, it is a joy not to have to follow along on transcript and hear your voice again. 🥰❤

You may remember, from my other comments, I'm in Brixham and not only is the quality in our local charity shops poor, and I include some in Newton Abbot in this, but some of the prices for the poor quality almost make me laugh out loud. When charity shops start charging more for the used item than it would have been new there is a problem. I think I said before that some of the larger charities shops have been told to charge more in order to prevent Ebay resellers but I think it is a very short sighted policy. Surely better to make sales than to lose them by pricing too highly. xx

I’ve had blooming onion -I think at Outback Steakhouse when in the US. Delicious. I’ve been in England since April 21st and yes it has been cold. We always come to the UK at this time of year and it’s definitely colder than usual. Had to buy a few extra clothes! As long as I’ve lived in Canada I still miss British Spring with its green and beautiful flowers.

Hi Caroline, my second or third comment to you today - a first for me! Watched your clog again for today, and Re the eye drops - I had eye surgery for a macular hole in my retina and the surgeon recommended Hylotears eye drops, especially for dry eye syndrome. Hope this helps. Your Mum looked very well and settled in her new home. I am sure she appreciates and values your visits and company and that of your brother. You are all very lucky to have that companionship, it does not always happen in families.

Dear Caroline. When you have a loved one die little things come up and hit you unexpectedly. Hope you are ok. As for looking for your phone “ dip s…”. I laughed out loud. But people need to enjoy the moment more often than trying to film everything. On Saturday I went with a friend to see the Abba Voyage show. I'm not sure about others, but I used to take a lot of my clothes to charity shops, but since the popularity and rise of vinted, I tend to keep my best stuff to sell. I feel really bad about it as I barely take much to the charity shops these days. The small amount made from vinted certainly helps with saving money, though!

Hi Caroline, when I saw your bath, and you were so excited about it, I didn’t like to say anything, but we bought the same bath about 2 yrs ago and had to take it back, I am 5’2 far too short and it was uncomfortable, it’s heartbreaking when that happens, I do hope you solve it with a cushion r something xxxx I must say choosing the next one, I was getting in the baths in the showrooms and laying out lol. I love the material for your blinds it's unusual and will really set your bathroom off. I'm not enjoying baths now as I've lost inches in height and keep slipping down. I looked for something to put at the bottom and they have them on amazon but very expensive for what it is, Its a cushion but made of hard plastic and a review said the walls of your bath have to be very straight for it to adhere to. I'd love to see a video of the vintage jewellery and to have a chance to win that lovely set. Thank Caroline.
