Physio here.. you can take it or leave it, but I wouldn’t recommend chiro on top of physio. Too many treatments in such an acute stage of back pain can a.) make it worse and b.) not help you monitor what’s effective for treating your pain because you can’t isolate progress to anything in particular! Get better soon xx

Girl, coming from someone who’s been through it with their back. All I can say is feel your feelings. They are valid. People that have experienced back pain will get it and the ones that haven’t won’t. It’s extremely debilitating not being able to move your body the way you want to. Us folk get it. I hope your recovery is a quick one. Don’t give up and keep moving forward. From here on out it will be something to forever be mindful about, especially as we get older. But believe me when I say things do get better and you’ll have that freedom back soon enough. ❤️

I hurt my back about 2 years ago- nobody could tell me what it was but I'm pretty sure it was a bad sprain! I was SO sad and frustrated because I was out of the gym for almost 10 months, and the pain was so debilitating at times. The injury took such a toll on me emotionally. Injuries are so hard and your feelings are totally valid. Acupuncture helped me with the pain quite a bit, I definitely recommend!!

I had very similar symptoms for over a year, from not being able to sit for long periods, to having very limited and painful movement - just to find out that i had a herniation between my L4-L5 discs. Going for a scan was the best thing I did! Knowing what the problem actually was, was a relief in a way, too. Ive avoided deadlifts, weighted squats or any exercises that put strain on the lower back. Pilates has helped a lot too to build up my lower back strength and support my lower back. Also, sleeping with a pillow between my knees has helped a lot too! Hope you recover ASAP, I know how frustrating it is!

I am with you on your back injury. I have had an injured back for over a year now and it is hard to work, to weight lift, and even to live life. The other day it flared up when I was in the drive-thru ATM. I have had so many ups and downs. There was a point in time when I had no pain and was lifting heavy and maxing out on all of my compound exercises and only two months later it flared up again and has been unsteady ever since. Learning to work with my body has been so hard because I just want to be able to do the things I used to be able to do but I need to be realistic that my body has changed and it's okay. I believe you will get through this and find things that work for you!

Not to demotivate you - but I broke my L5 12 years ago and still suffer from fairly bad pain flareups. However, I am terrible at following instructions. I feel like you've taken all the steps that I should have LOL. Mine was also a break, and I tore my multifidus muscle all the way up on both sides and the intertranverse (I think that's what they're called LOL) ligaments in my lumbar spine. HOWEVER, now that I am older and somewhat wiser - I get chiro, massage, acupuncture, I tape my back, and I also do dry needling and shockwave. The last two have been life changing for me! If those are options you can get done, I 10/10 recommend looking into them! Also, I promise that the chiropractor isn't as scary as many people are led to believe! Just make sure you check credentials before going to someone! My chiropractor is amazing and there are days I don't think I could get out of bed if I didn't have it! But, I would also push for an MRI of your back if you haven't had one already! Keep at it girlie, you're freakin' killing it and we're all here for it!

RE: being flexible, I also consider myself to be flexibile, but since I started running, I'm SIGNIFICANTLY tighter, and my body notices tightness much faster. Like, no amount of stretching can loosen my hamstrings now that I run. I never had that issue before. It just takes even more stretching and mobility to maintain a level of normalcy bc running seems to tighten me up so much.

Hey! Fairly new follower here but I just wanted to share that I know it’s tough to feel like your identity, purpose, and job is at sacrifice, but try your best not to worry as I’m sure 99.9% of people are just interested in seeing whatever type of content you put out💕 I’m currently going through a very heavy injury rehab period of life right now so I resonate with the PT/recovery exercise regime. I was rear-ended pretty badly 9 months ago, sprained an ankle in late November, and flared up my whiplash in early January while training for a half/pushing my workouts too hard. I’m glad to say I was able to still run the half marathon a few weeks ago but I’ve been treating my body really gently since and have been focusing on hot yoga, light weightlifting and will be introducing running again once my legs recover lol. It can be so hard to be challenged by your body but it will most definitely get through this!

Took me a year to recover from a bulging disk in my L5-S1! Your symptoms sound like mine before mine actually fully bulged. It was debilitating after it bulged onto my nerve. I know you probably don’t want advice but find someone to do an MRI on your back to find out the exact problem instead of doing all these different modalities that work on top of each other! Physio was also what sorted me out! But she had a diagnosis and knew exactly what she was treating. She wasn’t doing it blind! Hope you get some answers x

Hey Conagh, I'm a chiro and I'd definitely recommend getting adjusted as well! Making sure your spine is functioning properly aids in our body's natural ability to heal, especially when the issue is biomechanical in nature - like you mentioned!! If you explain the situation and that you are working with a physio as well, any good practitioner is going to take that into consideration and work with all of that in mind ☺️ best of luck!

I cured my whole body (my back was the worst part) doing a keto diet and switching my training by doing aerobics. I don't think you should stop training but I do believe you should do light light exercise and running or lifting weights isn't the best for your back. Anyway, I wish you find your solution. I cured after 20 years of chronic pain. I was always with back posture correctors, sometimes two at the same time because one wasn't enough

I would 100% recommend getting acupuncture! Acupuncture changed my life. I had chronic back pain from doing deadlifts and the pain was so bad to the point I couldn’t sit down and then I got acupuncture. Holy moly that was a saviour. Physio here 👋🏻 it really sounds like these physios don’t know what’s going on and are just trying to give you something to hold onto eg tight hip flexors. From my clinical experience especially with no impact or mechanism of injury, it’s generally a misalignment of the hips due to a sudden spasm of the back muscles (QL, adductors, hamstrings). I’d listen to the osteopath in this circumstance. You leg is only shorter than the other because your pelvis has upslipped which is causing the pain. Release these structures I mentioned and it will slowly settle. Love ya x
@emmafox84339 ай бұрын
Cont.. keep exercising how you feel is good as long as it’s below a 3/10 pain. Try avoid you provocative movement if that’s lumbar extension of flexion by pushing too far into that range
