i really hope you start doing the things you want without worrying about others. i was definitely considered whitewashed growing up but after i graduated i fr did and wore what i want bc i look good tf. my aesthetic is kinda like yours but also pretty alt so after high school i embraced that bc if someone still wants to comment on my aesthetic or new things i try when we grown as shit then they're weird. simple. i have social anxiety and anxiety bad but i fr use my aesthetic and trying new things with it as a blanket now + i tried to adopt a whole "if you hate me ur weird" "if you have unprovoked things to say about what i wear and how i talk or act ur weird" mentality ESPECIALLY with strangers. the maya beatriz brand will thrive as long as maya is doing whatever she wants

I have 4c hair and natural hair definitely has a learning curve so I get where you're coming from. Nevertheless, I really do love my hair! I've realized that a consistent routine with low manipulation is key to the whole thing. I've been experimenting with twistouts and tbh, doing my hair in the morning has been taking me about 5 minutes. I just fluff it out with my fingers for a fro or put it into one or two puffs. Maybe while you rock your wig for the winter, you can look into how other naturals maintain their hair and like different styles (buns, mini twists, etc) and stuff.
