Melissa I completely understand you about biking in NY& I get why you were exhausted by the end of the day. I visited for the first time last year for my birthday (went to Brooklyn & loved it) and the way everyone is on the road is insane. From walkers to, bike riders/ delivery guys& people in cars NOT A SINGLE SOUL CARES lol. It’s like everyone dares each other to hit them,& talk about road rage lol To me it was VERY NY but extremely nerve wrecking.

As someone who lived in NYC for 10 years, tourists need to bike in the park. Y'all were going slow joyriding when peoole are on bikes as their primary transportation trying to go to work, run errands, and live their lives. As a licensed cycling instructor, people going slow not going with the traffic are dangerous to other cyclists going with traffic. In the future I suggest riding greenways and parks. As suburbanites who do not ride for transportation, you will always feel unsafe though you were in a highly protected bicycle lane.
