George was a very very nice man. After he hit his act together he was a hell of a guy. JD said he and Elvis had plans to go on a gospel tour after the tour that didn’t happen.

Johnny Paycheck is buried in a part of Woodlawn Cemetery that is owned by George Jones. Jones donates plots to country singers who are unable to afford a proper burial. At the time of his death, Johnny Paycheck was penniless and Jones paid for his funeral, his plot, and his headstone. This is the actual story. Thanks, Spa Guy for all of the great shows you have provided us with on KZbin. During the months of quarantine, you have really entertained us with information and travels that we would not get to enjoy and know about. I am a REAL fan of all that you give, and all that you do.

I really hope a lot of people see this video. You really did such a great job of letting people know where their favorite entertainers have been laid to rest. I saw so much more in this than than I had expected. Loved Jerry reed so much and Lynn Andersen as well as Tammy. My brother was in a bar in Southeast Texas one afternoon and he sat down next to a gentleman sitting at the bar. He was very kind and generous and insisted on buying my brother a few beers throughout the day and when the man got up and left the bartender said something to my brother along the lines of: “ This had to be a neat day for you. It’s not every day you get to sit next to a living legend and spend the day talking.” My brother said, “He’s a legend? Who was that guy?” Well obviously the bartender was stunned and said you didn’t know that was George Jones you’ve been sitting next to all afternoon? You could’ve picked my brother up off the floor. He was never a country music fan; and believe it or not, he did not have the slightest clue what George Jones even looked like. I’ve often wondered how amused George was because there couldn’t have been any doubt in his mind that my brother had no idea who he was.

How lovely it must have been for George to sit next to your brother having a chat with someone who wanted to talk without knowing who he was. Living a normal life chatting to a real friend.

I had the honor of meeting George and Tammy when I was working at a radio station in Canada. They were on tour with Connie Smith . I was able to get backstage and talked to both Connie and Tammy for a while. Then Tammy called George over and although he wasn’t thrilled to do so, he shook hands . This would have been in the early 70 s.

This was a great tour. Towards the end where the log cabins were, a few feet over lies the "Cremation Gardens." It has unusual above-ground headstones, such as bird water feeders etc. Sukey Smith was a "local" celebrity/comedian buried in Cremation Gardens. Her small stone says "Go home. I'm not here." LOL I'm being cremated & buried in the Cremation Gardens. I love the historic log cabins, waterfalls, ducks & fish. Cremation Garden is RIGHT THERE where the log cabins are. I was surprised it wasn't shown in the tour. Beautiful tour though! 💞

Another great video Spa Guy! Nashville, TN is so rich in history; so much to see there. Just a few comments that I thought about during your video...Otis Blackwell was an amazing song writer, one of the best!...I will always wonder what was so important that Elvis wanted to talk to JD about before he died. JD said he never had the time to get back to Elvis...I'm glad Tammy Wynette is resting in peace now, I will always wonder how/why she really died and the truth surrounding her death & the horrible way her estate was handled, such a tragedy... Drift Away was one of my favorite songs...George Jones burial site is amazing! His songs will live on forever for sure...I remember Johnny Paycheck's music too he had a few songs that were favorites of mine too, like "Take This Job & Shove It" and "Don't Take Her, She's All I Got." Great memories! Thanks again for sharing and thank you for all you do. God Bless.

I think so too but you do have to remember it’s done according to the persons wishes. Tammys children didn’t get to chose for their mother cause there was a arguement going on between Tammys husband at the time and her children. The husband had her cremated before they could stop him. The girls thought it was suspicious circumstances of her death and wanted s autopsy. I saw a interview with her daughters in regard to this situation one time years ago. The girls weren’t told their mother had died for hours after her death.

J. D. SUMNER was an honorary member of the O.C.W.M.A. We held award shows also. Mr. Sumner & the Stamps was listed in the Gospel listing of the ballot. Folks were asking who he was. Some knew some didn't. So as an officer in the association I opened the mic & proceeded to talk about how wonderful Mr. Sumner was. Hands down he won the award. J.D. Summer and the Stamps the best & hard to beat. Favorite song, I, John. Godspeed to you, Mr. Sumner.
