The introduction is actually called a postcard, and they are placed before each presentation because the show is completely live and each participant has different staging, so the postcards serve as a space to make scene changes. Each performance lasts 3 minutes maximum, followed by the 40 second postcard, then another performance and successively one after the other. Watching the entire show is crazy, each presentation is totally different and some simply blow your mind.

It's also worth noting that every country's TV company has their own commentators for the live shows and during these postcards they talk about the artists' background, the song or whatever they find relevant/interesting/fun... That's why they felt like that was the intro of a dating show 😂 In the live broadcast, with the commentators' voices over it, it would have probably given a different impression 😅

The postcard did not air with the grand jury final where she fell. In This video she fell, so it’s edited together- this is not the semi or grand final bc she didn’t fall in semi or grand final. Anyhow. I love this song!

the lyrics are two words and she plays between the two, the words being “phenomenal” and “feminine”. the introduction to the video is what is called a ‘postcard’. its a little introduction to the artist before every peformance, and usually shows a little bit of their country, and the country hosting too. its actually something that die-hard eurovision fans appreciate a lot 😅

Hi guys, for Eurovision week 2, please react to the top 5 of Eurovision 2021 the "Grand Final" performances. The top 5 was: 1. Maneskin - Zitti e Buoni - Italy 2. Barbara Pravi - Voilà - France 3. Gjon's Tears - Tout l' Universe - Switserland 4.Daði Gagnamagnið - 10 years - Iceland 5. You should watch the actual grand final performances, which are the ones broadcasted live around the world (and not the grand final jury show). She was much better at the actual grand final and her vocals were on point. Actually, in the jury show there was a malfunction, the dancers didn’t manage to get her pants off in time and you could tell it affected her dance afterwards. Anyway, great reaction! Welcome to the Eurovision world ❤️

Your reactions are pure gold - I'm kinda addicted. One note about this particular video: I cannot get how you didn't hear it, as native English speakers - as it's quite obvious for a non-native speaker: "It's gonna be phenomenal - femininal"
@WeeklyTop5 Жыл бұрын
Oh Thank you! We’ve gotten a lot of comments about that. Even listening to it multiple times we’ve never heard anyone say phenomenal like that. Doesn’t connect in our ear and femininal isn’t an English word and feels really weird to say. It’s funny how we can hear things so differently!

@@WeeklyTop5 I believe for non-native speakers it's easier to hear those words because English does not really use the phonetics of every letter whereas most other languages do. So if you read phenomenal in direct phonetics of the letters, it's actually close to the one Noa says. So if I saw the word phenomenal in a text and hadn't heard of the pronunciation once, I would say something like that as well

Can't believe you nearly skipped the whole of the postcard, feels like a cardinal sin 😅 This years postcards were actually quite special because we (The UK) were hosting on behalf of Ukraine (They won the year before, that's the thing you win the year before then you host the next one unless you have a good reason not being able to) both countries got incorporated with the artists country and they are there so you get a snapshot of the artist country and who they are (Usually the commentators will tell you about them) ❤

This one for me was similar to Spain's Chanel (from the year before). Superb performance of a sub-par song, where they throw everything at it from a performance perspective to elevate the weaker song. Could you please react to the powerhouse vocals of Dami Im (who represented Australia in 2016). And also Hatari (who represented Iceland in 2019) with their industrial banger "Hatrid Mun Sigra".

The vocals and dance break were not from the grand final. I think the version you have is a mix of the grand final version and the rehearsal. The performance from the grand final was more impressive. Some of the dance moves in this video were missing (she probably didn't do them because it was just a rehearsal), and the vocals were more flat on this one (again, probably cause it was just for the rehearsal). Also, at the end of the original performance, she cried from excitement. In your video she's being silly - it's definitely just the rehearsal.
@Juansgh Жыл бұрын
This is the jury grand final performance and you can tell because of the wardrobe malfunction.

@@madlybs Its still an official performance where she wasn't being silly 'cause she was getting jury points there. These guys are american so its probably harder for them to find official videos since they tend to block them on the US

I seen several Americans react to Eurovision performances, but perhaps you're right. I guess countries who actually attend the Eurovision know how crucial every move, gesture and note is in the official performance. So the dance break on the grand final is way better, the vocals were on point and at the end of the performance she cried, which I think, added a vulnerability factor that really empowered her journey.@@Juansgh

I’m sure someone if not, several people have already said so, but this is not the grand final or even the semifinal. This was the grand jury final. The two that air on TV are the semifinal in the grand final. And now that I think of it, if what you were watching, had the intro with the postcard, and the performance, so, if this was one video, you just watched someone altered it to make it look as though this was what aired on TV even though the one where she fell that you were watching now was not on TV. It’s odd someone would do that edit. Not cool of them. Unless an honest mistake.

You would be better reacting to the top 10. Some great songs only get 6-10th place. Basic rules: Each song has to be original/no covers, no longer than 3 minutes precisely and no more than 6 people on stage at any one time. The "Eurovision Song Contest" channel here on YT has most previous years contests available to watch, in full, and for free. Since 1999 any country can sing in any language. Finally, before 2004 there were no semi-finals; just one final. Today(because so many countries enter the contest) we have two semi-finals & a grand final.
