Not dead last per se, last in the finale. It at least came to the finale. Maybe it was too dark and mysterious for people/they didn't get the theme/like the singing style enough(many casual listeners might only watch the finale, so more people you have to appeal to there is my guess)or the favorites just took most of the points so some had to come last. But I agree, they deserved WAY more.

Norway was once again underrated massively by the juries this year. 😭 I really thought the televotes would take them higher in the rankings as they often do, but they barely got any. The fact the juries rated the UK entry higher than this was just tragic. At least the televotes were spot-on for them. 😂

Its a Nyckelharpa. I think the english name is keyfiddle. A traditional instrument from Sweden and Norway.

This was my favourite song of Eurovision 2024. It didn't deserve last place, its a haunting rock song based on an old Norse folktale. Metal & Rock music isn't everybody's type of music, the fact that Finland did better than this is a shock to me.

Such a great song (my personal number 1 from this year Eurovision) - shame it finished last, because a lot of people saw that as a clear top 10. What is interesting about the song is that the the opening features a traditional kulokk, a herding call. The story of the lyrics are based on an almost thousand-year-old Scandinavian medieval ballad. It tells the story of a young maiden, who is transformed into a needle, a knife, and then a sword by her evil stepmother. But, the people continue to love her even after all of her transformations, angering her stepmother. Therefore, to punish her even further, the stepmother transforms her into a wolf. It ends with the stepmother, pregnant with a child, being pounced on by the wolf. To lift the curse, the wolf must drink her stepmother's blood, which contains the blood of her unborn half-brother

I don’t exactly remember the Norwegian performance but to me, the camera shots are a bit too flickering. I think they every now and then could have focused a bit more and longer on the singer so she could have captivate the viewers a bit more.

Gåte is a well-established folk rock band in Norway, I've been listening to them since I went to high school in the early 2000s. Gunnhild, the vocalist, said singing this song was like giving birth every time, it was so intense vocally. She has incredible control.

Unfortunately ( or fortunately) you're not watching the grand final version but the semi-final one ( better than grand final). Norway was one of my favorite, folky, edgy, rock, metal... but the singer was offtune during the final especially during the chorus ( maybe she was exhausted by the several performances and the bad vibes surrounding the contest). My relatives were waiting for their performance because they knew they were one of my favorite. But they ended up talking trash about her vocals ( not her singing style, but the fact the was offtune). Maybe that's why Norway finished last. Maybe the grand final audience ( which is way bigger than semi final audience as a lot of people only watch the finals and don't even know about the semi finals and those eliminated in semi) just thought she wasn't that great. But she is for sure.

Norway barely qualified in the semfinal too, Czechia was only 5 points away from taking Norway's spot in the final. Norway was lucky to have Denmark in their semifinal who gave them 8 points and saved them from non qualification
