#Periods My first 2 to 3 months of getting my periods were from hell. My mom was teaching on a farm back then. I stayed alone during the week. So, I didn't keep tabs on my dates because I was still in Primary and wasn't comfortable at all to discuss it with anyone. Remember if you're as young as 12 years and are mentally trained not to tell anyone that you're staying on your own till every Wednesday and sometimes even wait till Friday to see Mommy. I couldn't open to anyone. I had to use my darker shades of socks as pads😢 I shit you not. At times, during break Time it would be so wet. Had to ask my mom to buy an extra packet everytime. It's a very uncomfortable conversation to have at a younger age. And now that I'm a mom, I decided to be girlfriend's bestie. We talk about everything. Even when she first got hers, she was so free to tell me❤ I was like; " yoooh, mama, thank you for trusting me and being so comfortable" I shed a tear that morning because it took me down memory lane

My first period was when I was in grade 6 and I was 11years old. I realised when i got home after school and immediately told my mother who went and got me pads while I bath. My periods is usually 4days. First day I suffer a lot from period pains. Second day I overflow which makes me uncomfortable the whole day. Third day my flow gets better with no period pain. Then, on the 4th day I usually almost forget that I’m on my periods coz there’s nothing much that’s happening.

Mabonza nation 🎉🎉 Yoh, I don’t remember much about my first periods but I remember it happening at school in grade 7. My cousin who was in the same school as me had started hers before me, so I had someone to talk to. The only thing that rocked me was that they would always come unexpectedly, overnight and I would wake up to a mess, tmi 🙈 It was only when I started working at 21 when I realised that they are not regular and saw a gynae. Looking back I’m shocked at how much info I lacked, like tracking my cycle, now there’s apps that can help with such. Interesting conversation to have.

When I got my first period, I was I'm primary school and it was a secret. I didn't want anyone to know because it was embarrassing. That was until one of my friends had that one on one conversation with me about periods and I won't lie, she made things easier for me and I'll forever appreciate her for that talk I had with her...because she had started hers before me...... Heyyyyy Bonzies🎉🎉🎉 Well the period conversation is very important, I for one suffered from the most horrible period pains for years (which is not normal at all).Before I could afford to see a gynae (which was a hurdle because of finances) I did my research on Dr KZbin and Google😂 and I could tell with my symptoms what the problem was. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I am currently on hormonal prescription to manage it. I feel like awareness around endometriosis is not visible enough yet so important because left untreated it could lead to infertility.

I got my periods when I was 10 years and I lived with my dad because my mom had gone back to varsity. My dad taught me everything I needed to know about periods. Luckily for me I've never had period pains. I always get my periods for 4 days and I never have a heavy flow.

My first time, I was in high school I stayed with my dad so I wasn't comfortable telling him. Luckily a friend once gave me one pad and I kept it. I think they were in my carboard for at least 2 years, until the day I used them. I had a time where I bled for a month, went to the clinic and I didn't any help, I was sent to a hospital still no help. Unfortunately I couldn't afford a gynae so I stuck with the bleeding for over a month until they decided to stop. I wish I knew about via health then but now I do. Thank you!

Yooooh, I was thirteen years, chilling with my girl cousin and our boyfriends 😂😂. It was the 31st of December and we had to go to church that night. We separated s we could bath and prepare for church. When i got home, I took a nap coz I had a "stomach" not knowing that it was period pains😂😂. My cousin came, I woke up and when I was about to take a bath😮 I saw blood on my panties 😅, took the panties and took it to my mum😂😂, she just told me to take a bath and she will help me after.
