Fun fact: not sure this has already been said but the first caller “Punk Rock Michelle” is actually the same girl from the 2010 video/interview w Gene and her in New Hope, she runs the store God Save the Qweens which is basically Ween’s home headquarters, still there to this day. Funny that Gene said to hang up on her here considering their current friendship and they used to hook up back in the 80s

i'm sorry but "rock is dead now that i'm an adult that has to work and pay bills" is such a basic opinion. is rock the zeitgeist which we all continue to live under? no, obviously not...stuff changes, just like how we aren't commonly listening to jazz and ragtime on the radio anymore. that doesn't just make those genres dead though, if there's one thing the boys have taught me it's that creativity will always triumph when the inspiration hits just right...does it matter that you wrote a schmultzy showtune 90 years too late? no, not at all...good music is good music, stop paying attention to what the flavor of the week is according to some a s s h o l e that works for Billboard. it doesn't make you any cooler to plant your feet in the fertile ground of 1997 and say "yep, here's the precise moment where i draw the line -- and music is hereby dead after this random moment 25 years ago, i do declareth!"
