Thank you, a bit experimental but I hope they do well 👍

those dragon master look gorgeous with the black glazed pots! Your garden is looking like a real paradise now, I remember when it was just a square of grass in your early videos :D

Enjoy your videos. Maples in hanging pots/baskets is popular here in the states. I like your wall pots.

Thanks, I think it’s starting to catch on in the UK as well. Seems that maple trends often start in the US then come here. Carl

@@Japanesemaples If I understand it right the hanging basket idea started in Japan.

Saw a Cascade Citrine the other day at a garden centre. A truly stunning weeping-from maple.

Hi I’ve just found your channel & love it I’m new to keeping Acer & Azalea’s would love some info on best potting compost & feeding etc. I live in Midlands so will enjoy visiting the nurseries you mentioned. 👍
@Japanesemaples7 ай бұрын
Hi for both I use 50% ericaceous compost and half John Innes no. 3. I find this is a good balance to hold enough water in the summer, but drains well enough in the winter. Don’t over pot too much thought! 👍

@@Japanesemaples Do you give any granular or liquid feed during the year?
@Japanesemaples7 ай бұрын
@@marydempsey9498 I have only ever used Vitax Acer feed. It’s slow release and if done in late March / April lasts all year. Acers hate too much nitrogen and if they grow too fast later in the season the frost gets the new growth!

I have been following your channel for a while , I have about 16 maples, 1 of them a moonrise had buds develop on it but they have never developed into leaves, the buds still look green , do you have any idea what is wrong with it
@Japanesemaples7 ай бұрын
Hi there, have the other trees all leafed out ok? What time of year is it where you live? Carl
@CC-mn6qk7 ай бұрын
Hi, yes all my other trees have leafs, I live in Scotland, I have 5 of them planted in the same area and its just one of them this has happened to, I also have another moonrise over in another part of the garden and it's fine too
@Japanesemaples7 ай бұрын
It’s hard to say I’m sorry, but my own same tree has only just leafed out this year and I love in the milder midlands. Might well be too much water causing root damage as it’s been really wet this year.
@CC-mn6qk7 ай бұрын
Thanks for your help, today I have dug it up, put it in pot and will see if I can get it to recover. Yesterday I had delivered Oridono Nishiki , I had never seen one of these before , is beautiful
@Japanesemaples7 ай бұрын
@@CC-mn6qk no problem and I think we have an answer. If it’s small enough to repot it’s almost certainly a water logging problem. Choose a pot just big enough for the root ball and I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🤞 for you. Over the next few weeks I will be revisiting a Trompenburg I saved last year using this method, as well as looking at planting in the ground. Your questions encourage me to crack on with this so thanks 👍
