(Scottish) Gaelic is a massive part of my life, I've been speaking it for almost 14 years. Where I live the Gaelic school only opened an actual building in 2007(? Don't quote me on that) anyway I'm gonna stop rambling Well done on pronouncing it, my friends tend to make fun of me by pronouncing it wrong on purpose and it gets really annoying So well done xx

!! This is great, your pronunciation was fantastic, especially for a learner (One thing to note - the "bh" in "leibh" makes a "v" sound rather than the "f" you were using, but you were very close) I'd love to see another one of these, Gàidhlig is so important and its vital that we don't lose it. Tapa leibh agus Suas leis a' Ghàidhlig!

Way to go! I have always wanted to learn Gaelic and German as Scotland and Germany are where a great percentage of my heritage lies. There's a little French there and I'd love to learn that too. Well done for stepping out of your comfort zone! Time for me to do so as well. I've had Rosetta Stone installed and setup for German for a while but haven't had the time and I've been a bit leery due to my experiences learning Spanish in school, though I'd like to master it one day. Time for me to step outside the box and start learning! Thanks for the motivation! Also: Sign language is epic! I want to learn that too! I've run into a few hearing impaired customers in my line of work and I feel bad only being able to communicate on paper. It bothers me that they can read my lips but they have no way to communicate with me other than writing down questions. If you get any more awesome the universe is going to implode, y'know that right?

At Scottish Highland Games they use some Gaelic phrases. Like Ceilidh (Kayley) party . Or C'ead Mile Failte" (A hundred thousand welcomes) . I only know a few words that are commonly used at Highland Games. I met an entertainer at a games that grew up speaking Gaelic. Donnie MacDonald from the Isle of Lewis. I'm in Arkansas but Scottish Highland games and Renaissance Fairs are popular here and many places in the U.S. .

I like, by which I mean I absolutely hate but it works, the Duolingo method. You learn around 3-5 things in one section, there are three sections in a topic. When you complete a topic, you have to do a test on it each day to stop you forgetting it. you progress through and do more topics. I find that it is working quite well for my Irish Gaelic learning.

I thought this was really cool. I've been interested in Scottish Gaelic, but being in the US it can be a bit of a challenge. (I can find a lot more about Irish, but I know that's not quite the same.) As a side note, apparently "Thank you" in British Sign is similar to the sign in American Sign Language. :) I have a similar problem with remembering languages, though. I've determined to get it out of my head that I can't do something because as long as I think I can't, I won't be able to. Some things require more work than others, and that's okay. Eventually I'll get it, and so will you.
