If you had of run that a little hotter so it came out at around 160 proof 80% you’d have a single wheat whiskey at them percentages that your running at is more along the lines of vodka unless that’s what your more aiming for good vid tho man keep up the good work I’ll get around to making one one day cheers.

I run a flux still on and old keg and I’ve just purchased a 100L copper 4” bubble plate column still with a whiskey hat so I can distill a whole spectrum of different spirits from oakstills in China it was a very nervous transaction purchasing something over 3k from overseas but it all went smoothly and I’m quite impressed with it it take the the quality of the spirits up to a whole new level I’ve currently got a potato vodka, claw hammer rum, single malt wheat whiskey and another birdwatchers brew down again to use for making different cocktail spirits im loving it p.s. I’m get ready for my daughters wedding I’m suppling the grog happy brewing man cheers.

Why toss out first 250ml. After 50ml it goes from methanol to ethanol. After 50ml it’s safe and your gaining 200ml @ 90%ABV which when cut makes 500ml @ 40%ABV. I’m getting on average after discarding the first 50ml (makes good cleaning fluid) between 3.5 to 4lt @ 93%ABV.

Please try a kale wash, I think you will be very impressed and with a lot less clean up than weetbix

@@DirtySOHC78 especially if you boil and strain the kale, then only add the kale "tea". 25L total with 4 or 5 kilos of sugar. Plenty of recipes online, I'm sure you won't go back. Pre washed bag of kale from the shops.. pretty simple

If you run the exited water temperature between 50 and 55 you`ll get a cleaner finished product.

I have been doing weetbix now mate for a while…. Trick is to let it sit and air out for a couple days 🤌🥰

No mate I haven’t, doing another weetbix batch as we speak. But I wasn’t happy with last results. I am doing a double distillation to try clean up the after taste.
