I can’t believe my life has degraded to the point that I’m watching the lead singer of Weezer read out of his diary for 40 minutes and loving every second of it

20:05 - 27:50 This. This right here is one of the best pieces of journal writing I have ever had the fortune of stumbling across. If anyone questions whether or not Rivers Cuomo is a genius, I will simply point them to this segment right here. The writing is so raw, honest, and captivating, I can't believe it was all written in one stroke of the pen. I've been taking a creative nonfiction class over the past couple of months, and this journal entry is an incredible example of creative nonfiction and I guarantee you that wasn't even Rivers' intention. You can feel Rivers' thoughts whirring during this segment, and everything about it just screams intelligent, insightful, and oh so honest. Amazing work, Rivers. I may not have been able to buy this book, but I'm so glad I can experience this entry here.

@@carmynconnerley11 It's a really rare book called The Pinkerton Diaries! I looked for months to find a copy before finally landing one for, like, 300 bucks. They're not cheap anymore (maybe they never were, since they only made so many copies), but I got lucky. I hope you're able to find a copy somewhere!

What got me was how eloquently he spoke; how accurately he could convey his emotions and his every thought to those people, something I couldn’t even possibly imagine ever being able to do. Other than that, pretty cool video.

Not only is it his gift of melody and song structures that make Rivers a brilliant musician but also the fact he can recognize these traits in others players. I always said as a guy that grew in the 1990’s that if you wanna be a great guitarist their was a handful of dudes to listen to in the 90’s. 1)Noel Gallagher-Oasis 2)Kurt Cobain-Nirvana 3)Frank Black/Joey Santiago-the Pixies 4)Dave Grohl-FooFighters. Last but not least, the most important, our kid 5)Rivers Cuomo-weezer. So when he talks about learning oasis I’m positive he’s 100 on that because they are one of the most prolific rock n roll bands of the 90’s/2000’s!!! In conclusion rock on Rivers, rock on Noel!!!!
