Re-recording Pinkerton as an orchestral album should be titled Weezer (The Pink Album)
@mewgiah80573 жыл бұрын
Weezer continues to have one of the best comeback's in music. Even projects that fans/critics found to be missfires (Pacific Daydream & Black Album) - even those were quality, and a genuine attempt at a specific sounnd. Even if fans don't love those projects, they are 10x better than the bands low period. Now we have Ok Human which IMO is up there with White/ EWBAITE. The new record is so good/a completely unique take for the band to go. This album makes me admire the band much more, as it shows they are capable of putting out masterpieces with a completely new sound.

I so have wanted to hear Pinkerton displayed to us with orchestration and more piano. It totally calls for an alternate version like that and I’m sure many of us would love it so much. There’s so much more to that album than the noise of it. I feel like in this interview there’s some genuine connection to Zayne’s love for Weezer / Rivers and there’s clearly an attempt to really communicate deeply with Rivers about something more.

I love Pinkerton, it’s actually my favorite Weezer album (followed ever so closely to the blue album). I love the rawness of the recoding and I prefer the vocals being lower in the mix - makes it sound even more raw and almost punkish. I can see how at the time it maybe isolated Weezer’s more pop oriented fans but to those of us who were into punk, alternate, grunge, indie and the like, I think that album was excellent.
