Rivers kinda sucks. Matt made this band. I don't care what anyone says.
@patriciofernandez27115 жыл бұрын
What? Rivers wrote the music and lyrics, played lead guitar and sang beautifully every time. All Matt did was sing out of tune falsetto and play root notes on the bass. He was such a try hard too, constantly mocking around and showing off to get attention. He was probably jealous of Rivers' talent and couldn't handle not being in the spotlight, and that's why he left to focus on The Rentals. He was a good hype man during the gigs, i'll give him that, but for everything else he was a proper douche.
@enzoferrari82235 жыл бұрын
@@patriciofernandez2711 really? Downplaying his lyrical and sonic contribution is like saying the Pixies were all Black Francis and Kim Deal just sung backing vocals. Weezer has been trash ever since he left over several albums. And the Rentals make better music! That's all the facts i need.
@enzoferrari82235 жыл бұрын

@patriciofernandez27115 жыл бұрын
@@enzoferrari8223 Not at all, since Kim actually wrote songs. I'm not saying Matt was completely dispensable, I just think it's ridiculous that you value his contributions over Rivers', I mean Rivers' was the main songwriter of the band at the time, without him Weezer wouldn't even had existed. Rivers' had it all, the talent to write songs, the voice, the guitar skills and the charm to be the frontman. I don't care if he has a fetish for Asian women or whatever, it's his music I value.
@patriciofernandez27115 жыл бұрын
@@enzoferrari8223 And while it's true that Weezer has been mostly awful after Pinkerton, the first two albums were still Rivers' babies, hell he played every single guitar note in Blue. Matt leaving was a result of critics slaughtering Pinkerton leading him to believe there was no future for Weezer, that's why Rivers' became intent on being mainstream again and wrote nothing but shitty pop albums for the 20 years to follow.
