First off, Conan does look old these days. Also, Rivers has hair implants (he was going bald, which you can see in some past videos). These stars are always presented in great lighting with makeup, but when you see them in person in non-media situations, they look every day of their age.

i keep watching mikey's performances of this song. there's so many flourishes missing from the newer performances: the bass's half start and slide into the verse at the beginning, the riff and walk back into the verse from the chorus. the bass even has a thicker, nicer feel in the mix here. idk. it's a lot of little things

The reason Rivers sounds so unsure about his singing is because at this time, he was extremely depressed after Pinkerton had failed and had been rated awful. But he did recover, to go make many more albums and make millions of more dollars. Weezer forever ✌🤘
