LYRICS
Long ago
I was flying in the air
Looking at the sea below
I was hunting krill
Diving down
In a flash I’d scoop 'em up
Thrashing in my mandible
It was such a thrill
Me and my friends
We were killers
Now I'm just a bird with a broken wing
But I still have a song to sing
Turning night to day
Warbling clouds away
I'm just a bird with a broken wing
And this beautiful song to sing
Don't feel sad for me
I'm right where I want to be
The stupid cat
Always sneaking up on me
Thinking I would be his meal
Till I slipped up and away
Singing out
The melody came endlessly
High or low, I felt so free
I had something to say
But you’ll never catch my melody
I'm just a bird with a broken wing
And I still have a song to sing
Turning night to day
Warbling clouds away
I'm just a bird with a broken wing
And a beautiful song to sing
Don't feel sad for me
I'm right where I want to be
Nothing matters in the world
And everyone is free
But I’ll belong to you if you believe in me
Nothing matters in the world
And everyone is free
But I’ll belong to you if you believe in me

I was so scared this album was gonna be another raditude, but it's literally amazing and I haven't even heard the rest. Most poetic writing on any of their albums, a really good refresher from the ironic joke lyrics. You can really hear Rivers' love for classical music coming through.

@Marco-xu1ss

@@kradz5172 I think time will tell. This is Weezer's most artistic and honest album literally since Pinkerton. That's why it's so good. Also, I remember very well back in 2001 when the Green album. Everybody was just excited to have a new album after a fairly long hiatus. After a while, it just didn't seem to have that punch that Weezer was known for from their then-only other albums, Blue and Pinkerton. That said, Green is definitely one of their best.

OK human dropped nearly a month after I had just gotten broken up with right at the beginning of 2021. I was still getting over my ex girlfriend at that time, and when I heard this song I really felt it resonate with me because a bird with a broken wing is exactly what it felt like. But like, the song isn't about dwelling on that injury- I love the lyrics. "I still have a song to sing" is a really positive message it legitimately helped me realize that what I felt was only temporary. I still miss her sometimes, but I'm also just fine with who I am independently. Broken bones heal and it's okay

This reminds me of billy Joel. Their other songs have the vibes of the Beatles, Queen, and the Strokes.
