Definitely causes anxiety. Major panic attacks while on ozempic. None since it got out of my system

I been on wegovy for 5 months and the higher the dose the more sad and the more suicidal I feel 😢 but being overweight is hurting me and my joints 😢

Food is one among great pleasures in life, as well as a legal way to cope. People who struggle with food and weight definitely has this amplified so if you're taking away the dopamine from this pleasure, many people may just loose the will to live.

You do get a high off seeing the scale go down and know your losing weight to. I lost a lot on my own slowly.

@@brianne571 yeah and it works when people are stil losing weight. After 2 years most people on it have already reached the goals and if they dont know how to transform this dopamine seeking behaviour into a non-food form, they will be at a higher risk of being depressed or suicidal

Ouch. Harsh comment. Since ALL people have “damage” from some event in their life….I would reframe that and say since 80% + of people will have a mental health diagnosis sometime during their life, this type of med may have impact on mood. It does stop the “food noise”. Maybe it affects other receptors as well. I have not experienced any mental health change since on Wegovy for several months. I think it is perhaps how each person’s unique body copes physically and mentally with the medication.

I was medicating a lot with food, alcohol, and things I don't want to get into. When I learned to sit with the depression, and see it as something apart from the actual "me"...then things started to shift for me. Mindfulness helped a lot. I like books like 30 Days to Reduce Depression by Harper Daniels and the Tao Te Ching, but books aren't eveyone's thing. It was a slow recovery. Go at your own pace.

Yes I have noticed over the past year that my depression is less. Maybe because my blood sugar is better as years ago I read blood sugar problems can cause depression. 😀

I have struggled with anxiety off and on my whole life. I feel like hearing people feel anxious and having panic attacks on these meds has freaked me out to where I feel like I'm going to experience this. I done it 2 weeks and have felt more anxious but I do think it's because I was coping with food for my anxiety before and that's gone.

I just started compounded semaglutide, and I took my second shot Monday. I will say I was fine the first week, but this week I hate myself and everyone else. 😂 I always hate myself, but I’m usually fine with everyone else. I’ve had to keep myself in check at work, and remember that I need my job. I wasn’t sure if it was the meds or not, so this side effect may ring true for some people.
