3:12 You do realize that you can lock the lower knee joint into place which would actually help the stability by a long shot. This however will result with only a single knee bend.

I really think that Hasbro should contact these companies and allow them to keep making improved/collector's versions of molds such as this but in exchange for some royalties. It's a dream, but it would be neat to see these companies co-exist and benefit each other.

I think 3rd party has helped Hasbro & Takara change their aesthetics a little and for the better, I think the most from little design tweaks and changes that i-gear was making.

Yeah, that's ridiculous, when a KO costs less that of a standard deluxe.....seriously, Deluxes should cost at least $12.00 cheaper. Miss the days when Hasbro Transformers were cheap: Deluxes: $12.00 Voyagers: $20.00 Leaders: $40 to 50.00 If only things weren't so expensive these days, any more....=/

G1 Smokescreen eh, deluxe cost 14.95, voyagers 24.99, and leader class 39.99. I think that's more than fair/inexpensive prices especially with what they've been pumping out lately. Six shot and skyshadow look good on a mp shelf. Skyshadow is literally one extra hinge and some die cast feet away from being a mp and he's only 40 bucks. All the deluxe figures from the last 2 waves were pretty amazing and will be perfect for the mp shelf whenever weijiang gets to them. Perceptor already works.

excluding online purchasing mainly because not everyone can partake in that rout, the average price for a deluxe TR is about £20 apiece, it doesn't help that distribution is bad

Remember, the KO companies don't do the R&D on the figure which costs lots of money. They just OS or shrink it with a few thrown in fixes here and there. Look at the Weijiang OS Alcee, it's big but has an ugly mug. They could of easily have changed that, but why didn't they?

I'm amazed at how often the knock-offs are better than the official toys lately. I'm read for Weijang to do the whole Titans Return line, including Trypticon! Seriously, though, I really hope they do Highbrow, Weirdwolf, and Scourge. And upscaling Galvatron to leader size would be nice.

It isn't that hard to figure out why they changed the color of the head: black isn't featured anywhere else on the figure, and having it only there breaks the color scheme. Since they don't need to copy g1 100%, they went with the better aesthetic choice. Also easy: Hasbro simply cheaped out on that hinge on the legs. Question: are the pegs still 5mm or have they been scaled up with everything else?

I bought the original figure from an original store not knowing how terrible it is and this seems like the needed version so I will probably get this and any other that they make. Can't find them on ebay though atm. Awesome review as always!

G1 Skullcruncher was my very first Transformer and started my lifelong addiction/obsession with TFs, but I lost him many years ago... So when I saw Skullsmasher (if they had to change the name, why not Skullcrusher, who's with me?) on the shelf I bought him immediately. Ben is right, he's an extremely loose jointed figure, very hard to keep in poses, Hasbro could've easily given us the joint to hide the croc legs ( which would've also covered the gaping hole in the back of his legs) and the soft plastic cover for where his headmaster sits is truly s#@thouse... So I would be in a massive rush to replace him with this obviously superior model... BUT THEY MADE THE HEAD WHITE!!! WHY THE HELL DID THEY MAKE IT WHITE???!! SKULLCRUNCHER DOESN'T HAVE A WHITE HEAD!!! Thanks for letting me rant, Ben mate, if you're reading this, all the best with your health, I'm praying for you. Til all are one!

The friction joints on the hips and knees of this Hasbro mold are really bad. Out of the Package they are loose. I bought a 2nd hand SkullCruncher, and the legs were floppy. I bought a Brand new Krok, and it was loose out of the package. It hurts the possibility of this mold being so floppy, particularly with the bulkier weapons.
