It’s so funny because I did take a break from social media and when I went back in I realized I had completely lost interest in the “fitness community.” Especially videos on KZbin. I listen to recovery stuff like you, Kirsten kimkura, a case of the Jill’s, and I’m mostly listening to podcasts. With the gyms being closed during COVID that was actually helpful as well and now going back to the gym I don’t feel like I even want to train like that anymore. I am fa from recovered but I’m finding that I actually want to eat more and I’m hungry for breakfast now. So I’m definitely seeing signs of improvement ...... it’s gonna take a while because it’s been a great many years for me.... a lot more than most. I always thought I was living a “healthy lifestyle”-- boy was I misguided. I had to close my business and leave the industry I was in as it was toxic for me. So many doors to close just to regain my health. Moved in with my family for support . Such an amazing channel. Finally someone who gets it ❤️❤️❤️ Question... did you receive coaching during your recovery?

Glad you are in a good place moving forward and getting the support you need! I unfortunately did not have professional help BUT I fortunately had great family and friend support :)

Journal your feelings and fear,then go back and refute the fears with facts.set rewards for the milestones;first 10 pounds is a pedicure etc,tell yourself practice makes perfect,realize it will take a fight sometimes,but you can do it.pray,always💕

thank you for this!! im struggling with committing to recovery and breaking my exercise addiction, what's the best way to stop overexercising
@flowwithchlo

Exercise is by far one of the hardest things to reduce so understand that you are not crazy for having a hard time committing. I have found that its way easier for people to start eating more than to stop exercising (for those with an exercise compulsion). Now just because it's hard does not mean its not possible! It is not only possible to NOT be addicted to exercise and feel the need to exercise compulsively but it's possible to go back to training and LOVING exercise without it being unhealthy. To answer your question it's hard for me to say exactly because I do not know more of your story and what you have been through. To get help creating a recovery plan I recommend reaching me at contact.flowwithchlo@gmail.com. We can go over the best plan of action for your specific situation :)

You mentioned that it is important to get rid of the scale.I was wondering if weighing myself once a week will hinder my recovery? I am currently doing virtual visits with my nutritionist because of COVID and she needs to know my weight so she can adjust my meal plan according. I’m worried that i might be hindering my recovery by weighing myself. Wandering if you have any suggestions? You have be such an inspiration to me and I trust you words. Thanks

If you think anything is hindering your recovery or becoming a trigger I would stop doing that thing. That's just me but it seems counter intuitive to do something that would make you second guess recovery. I would bring up this fear with your nutritionist.

I always knew that I wanted to work with others in the eating disorder realm so I started going to school and getting various certifications from a young age. I started doing my own thing and got my business license back in 2018. Before I had done a multitude of things: personal chef, vitamin specialist at health food store, farmers market seller (still do that on the weekends!), house cleaner, nanny, waitress, full time student, random things like that.

Hi, I've got a question not really related to this video but whatever. I want to gain weight because I lost my period last year and I feel like I need to gain some weight but I really struggle with eating a lot, not because I'm afraid of it but because I I don't have a big appetite. any tips?
@flowwithchlo
@flowwithchlo 4 жыл бұрын
Good question. First off I think it's important to understand WHY you don't have an appetite. When in energy debt (eating too little and/or exercising too much) the body begins to slow down and focuses on the essential things to keep you alive. Your body prioritizes beating your heart and expanding your lungs and NOT sending appetite signals (especially because you've been suppressing them for a while). So you don't have a big appetite because your body is trying to survive on very little energy. This is a classic sign of energy debt. What this means is that we want to focus on getting out of energy debt and that is going to require reducing and or eliminating exercise and eating good quality food and consistently throughout the day. It will be uncomfortable at first but over time as your body gets back into energy balance you will develop a strong appetite again (which is a healthy good sign) and your digestion will get better and overall the whole eating process will be easier. If you are confused at how to go about this I recommend emailing me to see if coaching is right for you. contact.flowwithchlo@gmail.com :)

Should i take digestive enzymes and probiotics in ED recovery
@flowwithchlo
@flowwithchlo 4 жыл бұрын
That is up to you. It could help with the digestive process but just remember that nothing will heal your digestive system as good as eating enough food to get out of energy debt so that your digestive system will have enough energy to work properly. Restrictive diets are what harms the GI tract so incorporating a wide variety of foods, and enough of it, is the way to heal!
