Been on keto and lost weight, use a low carb tortilla to make a homemade pizza, low carb breads high in fiber fit the bill so no cheating needed. Monk fruit is the nicest sweetener if you have a craving but regular food so satisfying you might not crave sweets. But recipes for keto waffles and pancake high in protein are very filling. I buy hamburger on sale and stock up as can't afford steak but it is a good lifestyle because you never feel ravenously hungry.

@josephkessinger59733 ай бұрын
I started eating that way 10 weeks ago, and am down 40lbs. I plan on doing this for one year, in perfect time for planting our garden. I will never go bac to the supermarket poison they sell. Thanks for sharing. Meat costs more, but if you do not buy any of the other stuff, it works out to be the same or less. At least my experience.
@LivingFreeAlaska3 ай бұрын
We agree with the cost. It’s amazing how much all the extra groceries add up. Also makes packing for rv or boat trips super easy. We also try to buy our meat in bulk to help the cost. Now with our moose ground meat is taken care of for at least thru the winter. I keep saying I want to add veggies but as soon as I have a little I get horrible gut pain so who knows this may be a forever change for me as well.

I watch your channel for the Alaska parts not the diet, but I needed to see this. You are such an encouragement to me with your carnivore diet. Congratulations on the 50mpounds lost. I have lost 21 pounds but need to lose another 30. I needed the kick in the rear that you gave me with this video. I am using a keto-style diet and love all the meat. Because the meat is more expensive, I slow down and enjoy the flavors more. Thank you for the encouragement.

You can do it! I’m so happy we are able to encourage others to try. It’s not the most conventional diet but it seems to be working for us. Hope you have an amazing weekend!

I just recently started following you. I was wondering what you wanted to try eating the carnivore diet? I had not heard about this until lately and have been studying about it. Just wondering 🤔 thanks.
@LivingFreeAlaskaАй бұрын
Our doctor actually prescribed it to our best friend to help her when she plateaued on her diet. We love meat and if our doctor said it was okay… why not. He had the lecture with both of us that something needed to be done so that was our solution. We were very successful on it until my mom died. The past month we’ve been off the diet but will be going back on as soon as we get back home.

I have a question about the carnivore diet. Are you frying the steaks in butter for the added fat? Do you save the butter and reuse it? I’m from Texas & we only cook steaks on charcoal but I know the importance of fat. That’s why I try to just eat ribeyes.
@LivingFreeAlaska3 ай бұрын
Yes almost everything we eat is cooked in butter. It's something like 70% fat to 30% protein. Some folks I know who are on this and they actually eat just plain butter which to me is too hard to stomach. I do however smear it on some hard boiled eggs and that is yummy. Gary is also putting it into his coffee instead of creamer. I couldn't give up my creamer so instead I use heavy whipping cream in my coffee instead of coffeemate. You should try your ribeyes cooked in butter... its so yummy. Thanks for your questions... we love it when we get to interact with our online friends. Have a great day Shirley!

Our ground meat tastes very similar to beef. If we have you some and didn’t tell you, you most likely wouldn’t know. And the steaks and roasts really do not taste that gamey. It’s all how you prepare it really.
