The problem for these hooks is dependent on the surface. I have had several failures on a painted surface with a load under the capacity. I believe the wood surface helps as it is pourous.

That is more than 6lbs, each can is one pound of beans and there is also the weight of the actual can.

No it can't. It's strength is in pressure pulling directly down. Any other angle is what separates the strips from each other. The weakness of the angle pressure is what makes it possible to remove items stuck to them.

That’s static load. You wanna be also testing dynamic load- like when it snags when you lift it off the hook.

Thanks. I need one to stick in my shower and hold up a rack with bottles. It’s almost 6 pounds and I’m trying to see it a 5 pound hook will do the trick.

For best result, when you first stick the hook on the wall, wait about 12 hours before you put load on the hook.

Wouldn't it take some weight off the hook because the cans are leaning up against the cupboard? Seems like that would take some pressure off the hook and put some on the cupboard. I really don't know what I'm talking about, it was just a thought lol
