Philosophy of Teaching: Your Values and Goals as a Teacher

What is teaching philosophy and why do I need it?
Every educator benefits from creating a teaching philosophy statement. Students, interns, new teachers, and experienced teachers alike can grow by thinking upon and defining their personal beliefs in how they best teach.
In this tutorial, I talk about what a teaching philosophy statement is and share a few tips on how to write one. Hope it helps every fellow teacher out there!

The idea that a teacher should set the right example is not new, absolutely) but hearing it once again from you with some additional questions raised gives an important "push" to my mind - in which direction to reflect on) there is indeed much more than simply some knowledge that teachers can share with their students. To set the right goals, values is extremely important. What I'm going to do right now is to make a list of stories, that I can read with my students. I watched your video where you read the book about Zoe, the rabbit looking for her Mom, and I was so moved by the way you teach your students to learn lessons from the book. Thank you! They get a point for every correctly answered question, good effort, and/or positive behavior. The winning team at the end of the class gets a star. At the end of the term, I count the stars and the winning team gets 5 extra points to their final exam score. :)
