Mind blown. From an INFP who literally spent her entire weekend stressing out and focusing on a people issue and asking for advise from an ENFP haha. How is it so obvious to them??

The trouble is that when friends say that people aren't a problem, I just assume the friends don't understand the situation. But now I see that I should assume that the friends do understand the situation and that people are indeed not a problem.

Okay, so, I am lead Ti and demon Fe, and I feel your pain. I know that people are judging me, for example, because it’s impossible for that not to happen when two sentient humans interact. In the past, I’ve had “friends” and similar individuals tell me that “nobody cares” and “just be yourself”, and other phrases akin to “people are not the problem”. The issue with advice like this is that it implies important details that aren’t specifically stated. When people tell me “just be yourself”, what they really mean is “it’s okay to mostly be yourself, within reason”. Because that isn’t what they say, however, it can be easy to make the mistake of following their advice without understanding the implicit context of when, where, and how said advice does not apply. This led me to basically following no-ones advice but my own, because “the people” can’t be trusted to say what they really mean. Now, through my studies in typology, I’ve finally come to realize where my Ti delusion of believing I knew “the truth” was coming from. It’s not an issue of not knowing what does and does not happen. I’m right that people automatically judge each other. However, the issue is one of degree. I perceive that I’m being judged at, say, 90%...when really I’m being judged at maybe 5%, and even that might not constitute conscious thought. So in the end I learned that the advice I was being given is not wrong - but my understanding of human behavior isn’t either. They are both right, and it is my job to tailor my subjective perspective to fit the information I have. So now I can say “yes, they’re probably judging me, but if what I’ve been told is any indication - I’ll bet that thought is not very important or influential in determining their feelings about me or their subsequent behaviors.” To summarize, I would say...be careful about taking your friends’ advice. It can be destructive if you allow yourself to be mislead by abstractions that oversimplify a complex situation. However, keep in mind that the degree of importance that you place on your fears is subjectively blown out of proportion in your own head. Therefore, you need the perspective of others to put your understanding of the world into a more realistic “big picture” of life so you can be as accurate about your assumptions as possible.

@@AK-jt7kh "Tailor your subjective perspective to enjoy life" is what I say. The information you have is great and very well thought out but how do you know it's true when you are not in their heads? Cliven Longsight This is a difficult topic, as there are (in the OP system) jumpers (skipping second function) that will then exhibit both IxxP and IxxJ (in case of Sleep first) problems. To really understand what they mean with things vs people it’s best to watch their typing videos on their site. They guide you through the Decider vs Observer coin which will make this a whole lot clearer. On a personal note: hope you find a solution/answer for these things. I know the type of fears and obsessions you’re talking about (still have them) and it’s not easy to get rid of them. It might sound stupid, but when I started blaming myself for stuff it was easier to create positive change.
@MrFleppie

Cliven Longsight Thanks for the detailed reply! I agree it’s interesting to see that even though a lot of people (and scientists) disagree on which psychology theory is real or not, they seem to be talking about the same thing. Even when they do agree you’ll see ‘fights’ about terminology and such. That’s what I think is different about OP, they are not into the naming business but are tracking observations. With everything I do think there’s a spectrum, especially with the Decider vs Observer coin, as it is the biggest denominator. You’ll probably have a lot of people that experience both types of struggles.

Also, they should stop charging people until they've actually *arrived* to an actual consensus/Conclusion that their system *IS Actually* Scientifically Objective. In fact, they should be encouraging Volunteers &/or Paying people to help until they've reached the point where they'll submit their findings to an official Respectful Scientific committee. Right now, it looks & sounds like Hive mind level hypnosis. Like a cult. I want to be wrong about that. I really really do. Anyhow... we all KNOW they're gonna get *PAID* when the AI folks purchase their tech for Bot Consciousness purposes... Hey Hey "They have to make money.." Did I say they didn't? On the contrary, and, to address both of your replies here.. The story goes as follows: Online RC sales led them here. I'm quite certain they're doing juuuust fine financially. Edit: What I mean by that is they have established alternative ways to generate (passive) income; they don't need guinea pig's to pay them to test their unfinished ideas. And... Wait. Hold up... *Since when was "needing to make money" a solid foundation for infant stage Objective Scientific Discovery???* Like... Isn't it supposed to be the other way around??? And, like... Doesn't that (the former) create vested interest bias??? Remember, they aren't "there" yet. This is all an experiment before *THE* experiment. It'd be like Dyson &/or Steve Jobs charging interns for designs... Before they were actually design techs/legit firms. Here's another example: I'm trained in an advanced form of therapeutic/Somatic bodywork. My school charges models a very very very discounted price to come in and be worked on/with by student practitioners. Here's the caveat: *The School is already legitimately established.* They (DSP) aren't. Almost... But, not yet. The monetary thing is just one reason why I challenge the "Objective" claim(s). The other, being the obvious/blatantly apparent/visible Grandfather Clock principle. Thanks for your feedback! Always enjoy(ed). Edit2: Because you've been what appeared/appears to be previously Authentic & Respectful, I'm just gonna come clean & clearly state what I'm "up to" in here (besides learning, exchanging ideas, & enjoying the entertainment value/feel something--solo &/or in collaboration with others) Real quick... In Theory, I *LOVE* & *fully* support what they're doing (with Respect to bridging the gap between Old School Jungian Typology & New School Pop MBTI... And a sprinkle of The Big 5/OCEAN... All while using the Scientific Method to Objectively Discover the Actual Conclusion).. Only, I'd really like to see it reach the masses. In order for that to happen though, they'd have to actually abandon the cult following *&* *!YAY MERNAY!* "thing(s)," and, link up with several Actual Leading Experts (not "lau-dee-phuqn-dau" "experts") in the field they've/they're inserted/inserting themselves in. Heck, even Tony Robbins, arguably the #1 Personal Growth/Self Improvement Salesman of ALL TIME, got that. It's why he's so successful. What I mean by that is: It's Actually Real... He researched (& studied with) Leaders in their Respective fields. Had Mentors. Got their backing; THEN, Got After It. They/he follow(ed/s) the Platinum Sales Principle: "The Best thing's in life sell themselves." Why though? Cuz they Objectively *&* Subjectively work. How/why? *Cuz they're Real.* (The Circle is now complete ROFL). All the talking is just to guide you along the Path when the unexpected "how's" pop up. Tony's "Cult" Following "thing" happend 2nd. Same thing with Jocko. SEAL 1st. BJJ 2nd. Gym 3rd. Podcast 4th. "Get After It" 5th... Sales, last. (Funny thing, Jocko & Echo save the personal plugs for the end of their podcast(s)) Ya dig!? 😁

i'm obsessed with noticing everything. I'd notice my neighbour AND i'd notice the toilet AND i'd notice the light flashing AND everything else. And this is what overwhlemes me very quickly - the ammount of information about EVERYTHING that available around me that i constantly take in! Ppl arguing that attract my attention, my coworker little cute sneeze, sparrows chirping outside with some intersting patterns, rain droplets on the window, cars on street hoking as if this might speed them up, the way some of my friends talk and behave that i find amusing (and sometimes copy to make little harmless fun of them). E V E R Y T H I N G! This is rly hard to live like a sponge(bob). But thanks to MBTI i found out i'm most likely ENTP with very slight extraversion, like 4-5%. So i decided to go with it to see where it leads. Whats more proving is that i HATE being told what to do, i HATE rules, i never conform to any routine, always in the search of original solution to everyting, my room is total mess, my kitchen also is, i probably have adhd, i work as a programmer, but require a break every half-an-hour cuz i cant concentrate on one task for this long (adhd too?), my sleep schedule is fkd up etc. (cuz i didn't like when i was told to go to sleep when i was younger) So after i went with ENTP as an experiment - i found out the oulet of all the overwhelming information i take in. And it was in telling this info back to all the ppl around me. Talking with them, sharing my weirdness, my crazy idead. And to my surprise it went smoother than i was afraid of. And those who see me as weirdo - i just brush them off, thats all. Not getting into any conflict - just letting them go on with their business as they might be too much sensory or something like this. This works so far and i start to see improvement in my Ne and overall extraversion. Very fast improvement. Can this be that i was surpressing my actuall self this whole time trying to conform to social norms and stuff? It feels so much freedom now that i started to give my weirdness back to the environment

Meanwhile, I'm wondering why in the world anyone would want a window in their shower in the first place. If you need it there for ventilation because your house is really old, or built weirdly so that you can't have a very good forced ventilation system with ductwork and motorized fans, then at least put in a window with frosted glass, or stick one of those translucent stickers on it that makes it look like it's frosted glass. That way, you can still have natural light in the room and you can still open the window to regulate humidity etc. but your neighbor won't see you. The solution is simple.

Off topic: People with the same functions and animals look alike. At least partially. I know you do NOT do facial reading and that is definitely the right track. But is it a terribly out there idea to assume that an AI might potentially be able to work off existing patters (that may get a lot more accurate in the future, due to more and more people being typed) - and type people correctly just by facial analysis? In recent times, I found myself increasingly often assuming people's OP types by their faces. Not that I want to do this, but I can't help the idea when it comes up. Specific example, in case there's _any_ Germans out there stumbling upon this comment: Thomas Panke, "Held der Steine" on KZbin. He looks like Dave, I think that's pretty obvious. But if you know German and listen to him talk, I can't help but see him as saviour Ni/Fi. A great example would be his recent podcast episode (on his second YT channel "Der Held") called "Ich bin ja ein ruhiger Fahrer". I only ever got interested in hearing him talk because he so obviously looks like an Ni/Fi-SB/P type and I know that pattern. Well. In said episode, he talks about the dangers of driving and how he can't comprehend how increeeedibly unserious and stupid other people are with something as dangerous as moving a vehicle. Raging about things and chaos. And being pretty self ironic at that, like a double decider. I really cracked up when he went something like: "But am *_I_* being the freak here? Or everyone else? Meh, probably everyone else." For me trying to type him, it doesn't help my confirmation bias that he also talks - and seems to think - really really really similarly to an Ni/Fi guy I got to know a while back, who also looks like Dave and other Ni/Fi's of (probably) that exact kind.

It's a contradiction when a intuitive cannot imagine being the neighbor at that moment, and have to simulate the action to understand. It's like simulating a movie in real live to understand that movie.

Link can understand the neighbours perspective just fine. He just needs to be in the neighbours shoes to get better accuracy. It’s like the difference between knowing you can bake a cake and actually baking it.

Hey, could you give us your thoughts DEFAULT behaviour vs FACADE behaviour? I mean DEFAULT as people who are not that self aware, who can be typed as above. I mean FACADE as those who are a lot more in control. They don't seem to appear in your videos, but surely they exist. After all it's about balance, and somepeople should master these cognitive skills.

Think I’m more weird about people so a Decider. For example during lockdown I’ve been looking out of my window a lot to watch nature (we have a big tree full of lots of birds and overlook the beach also) however if I see my neighbours about I will skulk behind the curtains so they don’t see me, but if I notice them do anything odd I’ll tell my family. And then keep looking out the window. 😂 I sound like such a creep!

I think this two questions will help you: What is the priority for this person: preserving a lot of energy and then go use it when necessary (S>P) or spending a lot of energy and then go to rest when necessary? How the person process information first: reflecting alone (S) or gathering other people's perspective (P)?

@@HeyHey-ep9ld Speed (methamphetamine, C10H15N) is a potent and addictive central nervous system stimulant, chemically related to amphetamine, but with greater central nervous system side effects. It is a white, odorless, bitter-tasting powder that easily dissolves in water or alcohol. Methamphetamine is classified as a Schedule II stimulant by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), which means it has a high potential for abuse and is available legally only by prescription.
