I was a Kia technician at a dealership when these came out. They were sweet but nobody bought them because gas was almost $5/gallon at the time. If they had waited a few years they might have been a hit.

i have been obsessed with the borrego lately and am desperately trying to find an awd limited model to buy. i just test drove that 218k mile spicy red borrego the other day as that’s the only awd v8 around me. felt pretty solid but i still want the limited. nice video!

That's awesome, if you find a nice V8 Borrego you will have a great collector's item that few people know about! I agree with you, while that Borrego seemed nice, it would probably be better to find one with lower mileage. The nicest one I saw was the orange one with the black leather interior in eastern Pennsylvania, but I'm sure you will find one that you really like. Unfortunately it can be difficult finding a nice model when the Borrego is such a rare vehicle, but it will definitely be worth it when you find one. I have a 09 Limited AWD. It has been a fantastic family vehicle. It's our daily driver, boat tow vehicle, and it's a rocket. 150K with no real issues. This vehicle made me into a Kia believer.

I have a 3.0 Diesel 2008 Mohave coming in from overseas, should be the only one in north America! looking forward to it, they put the best of everything they had into the Borrego at the time. A real flagship for Kia, a shame the Financial collapse happened on the same year. Looking forward to trying it out! The one I have coming has just 76,000km on it.

We have a copperhead EX V8. There used to be another Borrego in copperhead that we would see around town but it's been a while. The best story however was a few years ago when we took the family to Omaha (we are from Minneapolis) for a track meet. As we are coming through Omaha what should come down the highway overpass merging into our freeway but another coppehead Borrego! Our kids and the kids in the other Borrego were waving like crazy at each other because no doubt neither had seem another one before!

My mom owns a Borrego V8 in Ebony Black, It's great. It's very reliable, the interior is kept up and not much service is needed on them. Before we got our Borrego in 2015, we saw none of them on the road. Today we see multiple and just laugh thinking we set a trend.

Im looking for one at the moment. I just missed a gloss black limited 165k miles V8 in great condition, listed for $3500, darn! My dad has a Hyundai Entourage same Lambda v6 with over 300k miles! It has been the most reliable vehicle we’ve ever had. It just keep going and going.

I used to be a 4Runner driver (had three 4 runners); I bought my first Borrego new and after 9 years it got totalled, I purchased another one, put 140k between both; I just got my third one a 2011 EX V8 with only 51K; very happy, great vehicle at a very low price; I have seen the late model Mohave’s in other countries (only diesel); great vehicle; I only wish my latest one was 4x4. very reliable truck solid as a tank

For some reason I decided today to look up this vehicle in the used market (we call it mohave). I was surprised to see that they came with a v8! With more power than a gx460! I thought they all had a v6 only.

ive got a 2009 kia borrego in white ive had her since 2012 its now 2022 and i love her driven to Florida to ca and back 2 times no isdues as long as you keep up with maintenance....I will say my tail lights go out quite often and replacing a headlight bulb is a bit more work then most cars...about 2 years ago I replaced the transmission but thats the only major replacement all motors work heating ac windows no problems she handles well responsive on turns..does take a bit of reving to get moving forward from stop...wish it had a sun roof but im just being a brat...I dont have a need for the 3rd row so pretty much keep those seats down and use the back for storrage...I love the size...its not impossible to maneuver big but its not crossover suv small...adult average man can sit comfortably with plenty of leg room...I do about 100 miles a week for travle for work and fill up my tank about every week and a half....I would 100% buy this car again

Mine is a V6, 2nd owner, and the previous owner was my wife's grandparents. Got it at just under 100,000 miles 6 years ago. Today it has 116000 miles on it. Within the next 12 months however, I will need to get another vehicle to tow the RV I recently purchased. I have towed the RV with borrego and it was fine but it was also unloaded. Dry weight at under 7000 lbs. No chance I will risk towing it with the Kia and RV both loaded so I will end up selling the borrego after I find a truck suitable (crew cab capable of towing at least 15000 to be ez through mountains)

I owned V8 borrego for 13 years with 170,000 miles. I love this car and gonna keep it until the engine stops.

in ohio, Kia v8 limited, RWD Black on black. I think all limited trim levels are black. front and middle row have heated seats, three zone hvac, nav, sat radio, back up camera and sensors. exceptional value. found mine in virginia 80K for $8200 last spring they are still available if you look and are willing to drive to get it.

I have a 2009 copper orange v8 with 136000 km I love it and I tow my 24 ft trailer with it aswell I am in Canada and I have never seen another v8 Kia ever

Did you know that the V8 EX trim has BMW's 6HP-26 6 speed transmission that is found in BMW 7 series(E65), and some Aston Martin, Bentley and Rolls Royce while the 4.6L V8 engine looks curiously similar to another BMW V8 engine. Go figure I've seen 3 borregos in my live but only one V8 which I own haha.
