I prefer Asian women in general, but I've only ever dated one Chinese. Xiumei. When I met her, she was amazing. Absolutely adorable, everything about her was really nice! But then about 2 weeks after we started dating, she told me she wanted to introduce me to her mother and start planning the wedding. I never dated another Chinese after that. I've dated women from all over Asia, and settled with the perfect one, and she's a Filipina.

LOL - "Weird foods" - all of those foods were once popular in European cultures (except perhaps chicken and duck feet), but not common in the US now. I think it is partially due to FDA restrictions on what slaughterhouses can process. I say this because I asked at our local butcher's (where they also killed the cattle and pigs) whether I could get tripe and was told that they weren't certified to sell organ meat. Fascinating video, Ms. Jo.

Yesterday I went to see "Shen Yun" performance in London Apollo in Hammersmith ( They're touring until 22'nd of April). Amazing and beautiful experience of Traditional Chinese dance/ music and instruments and orchestra. I love Chinese cuisine too, especially beef black been sauce. I'm planning on to get in touch with a Chinese medicine doctor again as I have been battling thyroid condition, I had seen him once and he straight away told me what the problem is, and in fact my Endocrinologist never did and the pills I have been on for three years have done so little. Exploring other cultures is highly educational. Keep your channel growing.

It would be hard pressed to call Shen Yun "Traditional Chinese". Shen Yun is a Falun Gong sponsored performance but their goal is to attract attention and push some of their agenda rather than promoting Chinese Culture. If you want real Chinese Culture you can actually visit China or Taiwan and book tickets to a theatre, see Peking opera or just casually admiring people practising Wushu on the street.

My gf is Chinese-Canadian and I recognize some of these things. She loves to eat the fat on meat, skin, chewing the bones etc. I don't like to eat those parts so it works fine for us. nice to see you again. while very distinctive to Chinese girls, my Scottish wife brought many of her own cultural differences that got my attention immediately. try haggis or black pudding...no thanks to this day. old joke about habits among older generations. new husband asks why wife cuts the end of the ham before cooking. Wife says, that's the way my mom did it.. they ask mom why and get the same answer. finally, they ask the grandmother...she looks up and says...it won't fit in the pan if you don't. so, even with good scientific ideas, things do change. lol. take care

I know all of this from personal experience. She heats water to drink tea and only drings hot water all day. Any cold drink at any time is rejected. She washes socks seperately from the other clothes, making socks wait, and sock shortages happen. I dont wear her panties, so I dont know what she does in that department. Her periods are tough and her routine is to stay in bed for three days during it. She first refused to take Motrin (her mother told her all pills are bad), but once I got her taking it, it helped her cramps a little. These things are all small adjustments. The upside of course is her stunning beauty, her cute accents and mispronunciation of English words, and her driving intellect, humor, tenderness and energy.

NEED ADVICE I've been chatting online with a wonderful Chinese woman. We talk about everything. She has told me that she feels intimate, connected, peaceful and happy when talking to me, and uses terms like "soul mate". We have not met in person yet, but we are planning trips together. But, she still calls me "friend". Is this part of Chinese culture? Will this change when we meet in person, or am I stuck as "friend"?

@@JoMoon It was once common in the Southeastern United States to see a jar of "pickled pigs' feet" next to the cash register in small country stores. The meat counter of grocery stores might also have them in packages of four. (I always enjoyed pointing these out to new arrivals from Northern states and seeing their reaction.) A common kid's prank from my long-ago childhood was to call a butcher shop and ask, "Do you have pigs' feet? "Yes. "Well, keep your shoes on and no one will notice!" Human consumption of pig's ears seems to have been less common, although you might see them for sale as treats for dogs.

Any cold drink anytime…I try to warm everything to room temperature or face disapproval. Definitely Chinese eat chicken feet and duck feet-scary on the spicy duck feet.! Being from West Virginia I’m used to pig feet and various beef organ meat, but some of the organs from pigs/birds are a Chinese adventure. Apparently there are rules for washing or not washing some clothes together. Also dishwashers serve only as dish storage; I’ve never seen it operated!

Thank you for this interesting information. I can't get enough of it. Unfortunately, German journalism is now at the same low point as the media in the USA. Countries and cultures outside the West are only reported on when something negative happens and the West can mock it with its propaganda. This leads to an unbelievably distorted picture of societies such as China, Russia or India, not to mention Africa. That's why channels like yours are so valuable for us in the West. Thank you very, very much!

I met a Chinese woman 17 years ago online. We have been married for 15 years. She is a fantastic woman. I like watching your videos, very educational. Some interesting things I learned about Chinese women from my wife. Chinese women are not overly expressive when it comes to feelings. She is the hardest working woman I have ever know and has worked so hard to learn English and is now working as an accountant where we live in Las Vegas. She tells me Chinese culture is that women show that they love you by example, working hard, cleaning and cooking not by words. I am very expressive and tell her how I feel about her, how beautiful she is and I am also touching, hugging and kissing her a lot. I think she likes how I treat her but she never tells me she appreciates how I treat her. Maybe you can do a segment on a Chinese womans inner feelings and how love is expressed in Chinese culture.

Jo Jo, i am from pakistan, and this postpartam thing is very common in our country too and also in india. Basically, women stay at home for 40 days after giving birth to the baby. I always argue with my mother that this is all BS. She says that the woman's body is weak after birth, and if she goes outside, she'll be possessed by spirits. This 40 days phase after birth is called "chila" in pakistan and india.

Things that look weird, like chicken feet, duck feet and heads i wont eat, but she will eat a lot. Her favourite is congee, with some ingredient, guts and peanuts. She made me eat snake soup when last we were in Hong Kong. When we visit Guangzhou, she was upset, because we saw a restaurant with dogs in cages outside. Many of us understand more than you know. We understand that in the majority of Asia and other parts of the world, the water from the tap is not safe to drink, so water as a minimum must be boiled before drinking. So naturally hot water would appear to be safer in the Chinese mind. Combine that with the majority of China being a cold climate. Here is Australia and similar countries, the water from the tap is perfectly safe and healthy to drink straight from the tap. In hot climates like Australia cold water is an absolute neccessity, to cool the body. Here in Australia good refrigeration is the norm in every house and business, so cold water is far more common and reasonable. Not drinking cold water is also a thing for many older Europeans. I explain it to my Chinese friends, this is a hot country, we need to drink cold water to balance our Qi. With some argument they come close to understanding. . Separating thigs for the wash is a thing for many Australians. We separate different types of clothes when washing, because it makes sence. Remember too the water we wash with here is clean and safe to start with. Yes most germs will not withstand washing with detyergent, drying and exposure to sunlight ...... especially COVID19. . While there are things that the vast majority of Europeans are not interested in, like, Chicken feet, Durian and stinkiy tofu, there are a lot of things that may surprise you. My mother was very keen on "pigs trotters" (pigs feet). I thik we got more of the lower leg with the foot than in China. Steak and kidney, either as a stew or in a pie, liver and onions is a big thing for working class British, cooked and pressed tounge prepared and sliced up for sandwedges was very populat in my fathers time. . As for the whole washing/ showering after birth, if you consider that the water from the tap is not clean and safe, that may be quite reasonable. . Like many thiings Chinese, when you understand the circumstances and the reasons why, they become easier to understand. What we need to do is understand the good reasons and separate the superstition from the good reasoning. . Water that is not safe to drink and lack of refrigeration answeres for many things

The reason for the first is because blood outside the bloodstream coagulates faster at temperatures below 35 degrees Celsius, so drinking hot drinks during your period helps keep the flow fluid and natural, while drinking cold drinks can create the opposite effect of coagulation due to the proximity of the bladder to the uterus, some will say that a few cold drinks will not make any difference because the body tends to self-regulate the temperature blah blah blah, these people are called imagineers because they imagine that they are engineers and they know what they are talking about but they don't have a clue, each degree of temperature counts and significantly affects how a body behaves or reacts, so because the coagulation process is not reversible they always preferred not to take risks, period, keep in mind that Chinese women used to be skinnier, therefore with less body fat and less ability to maintain their body temperature unchanged, but today they have more fat than a bear ready to hibernate, so you do not know as much as you thought and your grandmothers they were wiser than you with no need to have a doctorate.
