I agree with you totally Jo. I am retired and I have a Chinese lady friend who is 40 and very successful financially and highly educated. We live across the country from each other but she has a second home close to me. I am also married. We are just friends and recently she has started to text me less and less. She could have met or is dating younger men as you stated and she also said she is very busy working harder because she has had some financial losses recently. She manages a technology company with about 12 employees so she has a lot of responsibility too.

A couple of years ago I got a tip from a Chinese lady... I nearly had a heart attack. No haggling AND a tip. I bought a lottery ticket on the way home that day then called a close friend about the miracle that happened earlier in the day. It took some convincing, but I assured him it was true. I wonder about the communication between me and my Chinese lady friend. I am American and when I text her she says she is so busy and I don't hear from her for days! These days there are less of those younger guys. For a teaching visa you pretty much need two years of experience or a masters. Or your school needs a lot of guanxi. Also its harder for them to do visa runs every 3 months these days too. For sure when i first came to China there was plenty of those guys
