The idea behind OZ, was that he was an old wizard. The mask and cape coming off was symbolic of him transforming to a muscular, younger, version of himself. Obviously, that idea didn't transition and work well though.

i'd like to say the genesis of Curry Man starts with the old Kinnikuman manga where a character named Curry King was a wrestler with a whole plate of curry on his head, that's the only explanation I'VE got anyway

Orange Cassidy doesn't have a weird gimmick. It is cool and unique how he can do those acrobatics with his hands in his pockets. I do agree that the conglomeration is a weird pairing, but fun to watch the pairings weirdness in the ring. You should add Festus to this. Just watch highlights to see Festus the weirdness of this wrestler.

The storyline of the Red Rooster was that Bobby Heenan believed he couldn't get any wrestler over even with the worst gimmick He gave Terry Taylor the gimmick but realized he sucked and had Brooklyn Brawler attack He did get revenge by beating Heenan in a match at WrestleMania 5 in 30 seconds He still sucked though 😊

Ok so years ago there was a guy doing short form documentaries on indie wrestlers and their gimmicks. His name is Kenny Johnson and you can find his stuff on KZbin. In the Orange Cassidy one. He explains. That he is tongue and cheek making fun of the cool guy at every Indie show. The guy wearing aviators inside with his collar flipped up. The misunderstanding is O.C. isn't too lazy to fight back. He is too cool to try. The gimmicks also works because when it's go time, he can go.
